Jacob Pruitt, RHP, Yorktown HS, 2022
Indiana State signee. Lean, athletic 6-foot-1 frame. Slow-tempo delivery. High ¾ arm angle, quick arm speed, balanced finish. The senior righty allowed 6 H, 3 ER, 5 BBs, and struck out 10 in his 5 IP. Pruitt had his best stuff working early in the game, striking out 8 of his first 12 batters. In the 4th, he began to struggle with his command and a combination of walks, an error, and infield singles led to a “New Pal” 5 run 4th inning. Pruitt pitched at 87 - 90 mph with the FB, showing good arm-side run. His best offspeed pitch in this look was his tight, 78 - 81 SL. He showed a sweeping type slurve at 74 - 76 mph as well. Pruitt used a 77 - 79 mph CH, predominantly against LHHs. His CH showed good fade to the arm-side.
