Leighty is a strong, athletic right-hander with a fastball that regularly sat in the upper 80's to low 90's his senior year. The fastball shows occasional arm side run and sink from a high 3/4 arm action. His breaking ball made significant strides throughout his high school career, displaying sharp, late action with depth at times. Leighty helped lead Western to a Class 3A State Runner-up finish last June.
