Unsigned Senior Showcase: Outfielder Analysis

By Illinois Scouting Staff

On Oct. 7, our staff hosted the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase – an annual event for the area’s top talents belonging to the 2019 class who remain uncommitted. There were 160 prospects at The MAX taking part in the pro-style workout, performing in front of a collection of over 35 colleges. Already, 14 of the prospects in attendance have since committed to play at the next level.

Today, we’ll take take a look at all of the outfielders who attended the senior-only showcase from earlier this month.

Fifteen outfielders from this group found their way onto the rankings below. Only a few of the prospects in the list below have since made commitments to continue playing past their prep careers, and none are in the top-five rankings. That includes Colin Olkiewicz (Minooka), who put together one of the best rounds of batting practice on the day, regardless of position. The Minooka outfielder is athletic and could even fit in center field at the next level, too.

Statistically, Peter Fusek (Home School) might have been the event’s strongest performer. The uncommitted right/right outfielder was at or near the top of several stat boards after the showcase, including the 60-yard dash, exit velo, and outfield velocity.

Check out the full reports below on Olkiewicz and Fusek, as well as each and every one of the outfielders who took reps at The MAX. We’ve already published the Statistical Analysis from this showcase, as well as the breakdown of the day’s catchers and infielders. Keep an eye out tomorrow when we evaluate the group of pitchers from this event.
