SEASON OUTLOOK
The Golden Eagles have won four consecutive City-League Championships, but missed out on the state tournament for the first time in six years. Bishop Carroll is determined to return to the state playoffs and make a run at the state title in 2017. The Golden Eagles will have a young, but talented group of pitchers that will need to contribute immediately and will look for juniors Trey Kobler and Tyler Alverson to fill the vacant role behind the plate. Senior Jacob Ensz, a Barton County recruit, will lead the way on the mound with junior All-City selection, Blake Freeman, seeing an increased role. Watch for junior Jacob Christopherson to emerge as one of the area's top arms this spring. Bishop Carroll will have a pair All-State players returning to the line up in 201, senior OF Brayden Whitchurch and senior INF Adam Theis. Also watch for a trio of promising sophomores to have impact this spring. RHP Jack Ebright and INF/RHP Carsen Pracht could play a key role in the teams success this spring on the mound, while Jesse Peoples will be player to watch on the infield. Bishop Carroll will be as good defensively as any team and will have the talent and depth to defend the conference championship and make a run at the state title.
