Season Outlook
The Lansing Lions will look to get back the Class 5 Regional Championship and beyond this spring. Juniors Dakota Still and Jayden Raymond earned All-Conference honors last season and look to lead the Lions this spring. Juniors Caleb Adams and Derrick Willamson will provide experience on the mound, while Claye Howard, Elliot Wilk and Garrett Bull will return in key positions this spring for Lansing. Watch for junior Logan Banard to crack the pitching rotation along with sophomore Tyler Akin, who could also see time at first base. Sophomore pitcher Max Romine looks to build on a promising late season season start a season ago and see more important innings this spring. A pair of freshman could also contribute this spring. Peyton Basler will compete at shortstop and a spot in the top of the order and Dylan Ward could also see valuable varsity time this spring. The Lions will play a tough schedule this spring, competing against top area teams like Garnder, Blue Valley North and Bishop Miege which will make them battle tested once the post season arrives. The Lions are ready to build on the successes of 2017 and take the next step in 2018.
