Prep Baseball Report-Kansas held the Central Kansas Summer Trials in Hutchinson, Kansas on Tuesday, July 12.  Nearly 30 players in the 2019-2017 classes from the region participated. 

Player's profiles have been updated with profile picture, velos, times and videos.  We will break down the event position-by-position, taking a look at the pitchers performances today.  Although, some pitchers may have participated various positions, this is just a look at the pitching performances.  Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Pitchers

Aaron Bechtel, RHP, Wichita Heights, 2017
Bechtel is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Bechtel has an over the top release, loose arm action, throws on a downhill plane and with regular effort, repeats release point, fastball at 83-86 mph, touching 87 mph, 11-to-5 breaking ball, late action, change up consistently down in zone at 74-76 mph, some arm side release.

Luke Boline, RHP, Wichita Independent, 2017
Boline is a 6-foot-3 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Boline has a high three quarters release, takes hands over the head in wind up, throws with regular effort, fastball at 80-82 mph, works inside to RHH, 11-to-5 shape curveball, 66-70 mph, change up at 71-72, some flashing arm side run, high number of strikes with change up and fastball.

Jacob Christopherson, RHP, Bishop Carroll, 2018
Christopherson is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Christopherson has an over the top release, attacks and works the bottom of the zone with fastball, down hill, 81-83 mph, curveball has signs of being a good pitch as he continues to develop, 11-to-5 shape, 63-65 mph, change up at 72-73, compliments fastball with change of speed, fastball arm speed, projectable pitchers frame, throws with regular effort, slightly across body.

Gage Kennedy, RHP, Maize South, 2018
Kennedy is a 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Kennedy has an over the top release, throws with regular effort, slightly across his body, loose arm action, fastball at 71-74 mph, curveball has gradual 12-to-6 shape, 64-67 mph, change up has arm side sink, 65-68 mph, throws high percentage of strikes with fastball and change up, projectable build and arm action.

Ethan Kickhaefer, RHP, Salina Central, 2018
Kickaefer is a 6-foot-3 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Kickaefer has a high three-quarters release point, throws with some effort, aggressive down the mound, in line stride, fastball at 80-83 mph, some with late run, breaking ball has slurve-type action, 11-to-5 shape, sharp break, change up at 73-76 mph, near fastball arm speed. 

Andrew Nuessen, RHP, Goddard Eisenhower, 2018
Nuessen is a 5-foot-11 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Nuessen has an over the top release, throws with regular effort, in line stride, occasionally falls off to 1B side, fastball at 74-77 mph, breaking ball at 66-69 mph, 12-to-6 shape, change up down in the zone at 72-75 mph.

Bill Pospisil, RHP, Pomona (CO), 2019
Pospisil is a 5-foot-10 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Colorado’s 2019 class.  He throws with regular effort, high three quarters release, loose arm action, repeatable delivery, body under control, fastball at 78-80 mph, late running action, 11-to-5 shape breaking ball, sharp and late break, lands for strike, 67-68 mph, controllable change up at 69-70 mph, good change of speed from fastball.

Nathan Postlethwait, RHP, Andale, 2017
Postlethwait is a 6-foot-4 205-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Postlethwait has an over the top release, throws with some effort, filled up the zone with a three-pitch mix, fastball at 80-82, touching 84 mph, consistently down in the zone, flashed a 11-to-5 with sluve action breaking pitch at 68-72 mph, late movement, change up at 70-73 mph, sinking action, big frame with loose arm action.

Austin Quick, RHP, Lawrence, 2018
Quick is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Quick has a high three quarters arm slot, fluid tempo in delivery, in line stride, repeats release point, fastball at 79-81 mph, 10-to-4 slider at 68-69 mph, some with late and sharp action, change up at 68-72 mph arm side release, high percentage of stikes with three pitches. 

Raine Reitsma, RHP, McPherson, 2017
Reitsma is a 6-foot 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2017 class.  Reitsma has a high three quarters release, tuck at balance point, in line stride, repeatable delivery, fastball at 75-77 mph, 12-to-6 shaped breaking ball at 59-61 mph, some with sharp action, change up at 64-66 mph, flashed a controllable knuckleball at 62-67 mph, some sink.

Carson Zenger, RHP, Rock Creek, 2018
Zenger is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Zenger has a high-three quarters arm slot, in line stride, creates direction towards the plate, loose arm action, fastball at 76-79 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, 68-71 mph, change up at 64-68 mph, slight sink, smooth tempo in delivery, throws with regular effort.
