Kansas Insider: Sunflower Pitchers at the Super 60 and Who's Next?

With the 15th Annual Super 60 in the rear-view mirror, we can now take a look at the performances of the two players from the Sunflower State and take a brief look at what's to come.  In today's Kansas Insider will give you a free look inside one of the biggest events in country and some possible names for next year.

Zebulon Vermillon, RHP, Shawnee Mission East, 2017
Vermillion, an Arkansas commit, stands 6-foot-4 195-pound with plenty of room to grow.  The wide-shouldered righty was consistent 90-92 mph with his fastball and showed a 77-80 mph change up with arm side sink.  Vermillion had a loose over the top release, staying in line down the mound.

Daniel Harper, RHP, Bishop Miege, 2017
Harper showed on the mound for the first time since fall of 2015, touching 91 mph with his fastball and sitting 89-90.  Harper, a Kentucky commit, has a strong build and repeats his high three-quarters arm slot well with a simple delivery.  His change up was 80-83 and consistently down in the zone while his breaking ball flashed depth at 75-77 mph.

So, who's next?  Who can we expect to see at the 2018 Super 60.  The junior class could have many candidates.  Left-handed pitcher, William Dennis (Blue Valley Northwest) attracted a lot of attention at the Future Games last August touching 86 mph with his big frame.  Jackson Cobb (Seaman), a Kansas commit, is a strong catcher and left handed hitter with power potential.  Scouts in the area also expect to see a jump from Dalton Mall, another Shawnee Mission East pitcher who was 86 mph at the Future Games in August.  Also don't forget about two committed players in Camron McMillan (St. Thomas Aquinas, Vanderbilt) and Carter Putz (Bishop Miege, Notre Dame) who are squarely on the Super 60 radar as well.

We can't count out any other player that may make an increase over the next year either.  Here's a look at top of the 2018 class.
