10/28/19 - Steffen is a strong 6-foot-4 250-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Steffen showed a heavy fastball with late run at mostly 82-84 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, early action, occasionally sharp, change up is thrown with near fastball arm speed, some with late arm side run, 74-77 mph,  74-76 change up, some arm side release, throws with near fastball arm speed, over the top arm slot, fastball is thrown on downhill plane and comes out of the hand well, loose and quick arm speed, aggressive down the mound, uses lower half well, lands slightly open.

2/16/18 - Steffen is a sturdy 6-foot-5 250-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Steffen has a high three quarters arm slot, keeps hands high as leg lifts at an angle, throws with regular effort, accelerated temp, in line down the mound, fastball is heave with arm side run, mostly 82-83 mph, good command, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, sharp downward action, has depth, 66-68 mph, change up has late sink, 70-73 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, shows feel for the mound all pitches.

10/23/16 - Steffen is a 6-foot-4 230-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Steffen was 77-79 mph with fastball, late running action, 67-69 mph curveball, 11-to-5 shape, down in zone, 69-72 mph change up, near fastball arm speed, flashed arm side run, throws three pitches for strike, high three quarters release, in line stride, simple and easy delivery, projectable with signed of velo increases as he develops.
