Notable Risers In The Updated 2015 Rankings

By Nathan Rode

The 2015 Overall Rankings were updated yesterday with RHP Mike Nikorak (Stroudsburg HS, PA) taking over the top spot. Nikorak has shown a jump in velocity this year to go with an easy delivery and projectable secondary offerings. He is included in the list below, which highlights some notable risers in the latest update to the rankings.

Dylan Cyphert, LHP, Cranberry HS, PA
A Penn State recruit, Cyphert has a slight frame at 6 feet, 175 pounds, but he works with a quick, loose arm and is capable of throwing strikes. At the Tournament of Stars in June, he allowed just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out five in five innings of work. His fastball sits 86-89 mph, but seems to jump on hitters. His changeup sits at 78-79 and his curveball is in the low 70s. He climbed to No. 35 in the Overall Rankings and No. 7 in Pennsylvania.
