Uncommitted 2022 RHP/C remains one of the top uncommitted players juniors on the market. Cavanaugh attended The Barn scout day in mid-January, where he topped at 85mph from the mound.
Cavanaugh checks in at No. 45 in the KS 2022 class.

Positional Profile: C / RHP
Body: 6-foot-2, 190-pounds. Big body, long limbs, wide shoulders.
Defense: 2.18-2.30 pop times. Narrow and crouched set up. Clean transfers, gains ground with footwork. Arm: Right-handed. C – 73 mph. High three-quarters release, short arm action, mostly accurate throws.
Hit: Starts balanced and slightly open. Quite load, some lift to bat path, shorter stride, aggressive swings, back hip gets through, creates leverage with front side, exit velocity of 86 mph.
Run: 7.94 second 60.
Delivery: Larger frame with a presence on the mound, some rhythm to his delivery, throws with regular effort, accelerates tempo down the mound, falls slight towards first base after release
Arm Action: Right-handed, high three-quarters release
FB: 78-81 mph, slight cut, thrown for strikes to both sides of the plate
SL: 71-72 mph, near fastball arm speed, gradual action, 11/5 shape.
Cavanaugh is a lean 6-foot-2 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.34 home to first and had a 66 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with open stance, minimal load, in line stride, quick hands, hits with leverage in lower half, high finish in hands, middle to pull side line drives, has feel for barrel.
