On Sunday, Feb. 7, Prep Baseball Report will host the 19th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.

We started our our march toward the Super 60 earlier this month, by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school years and beyond.

Scouting Report

12/10/20
Nicklaus is put together at 6 feet, 185 pounds and takes aggressive hacks from the left side. The path is short and he maintains balance well, and there is middle-of-the-order upside in his time in Norman.

Nicklaus’ steady play throughout the week at the PBR Future Games was entertaining the more that I watched him play. Standing 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with some lean strength on an athletic frame, Nicklaus exhibited crisp actions in the field, and the ability to work line drives to all fields. The left-handed hitter possesses an easy rhythm with his hands working naturally down and back in connection with a short stride. He works uphill through the zone with developing gap-to-gap power, and found some success in-game against quality arms. His balance and approach stand out right now, and as he adds strength, there is potential that he may develop even more power. A 7.1-runner in the 60-yard dash, Nicklaus plays quicker than that on the infield with efficient footwork, and will be able to fill a multitude of positions on the infield. Overall, Nicklaus is the type of player that coaches will like more and more each time that they see him, and he will ultimately have a chance of helping a winning program at the next level.
