Since late July our staff has seen a number of games and events and consolidated our notes this week as we updated our class of 2015 player rankings.  The new list has been expanded to 150.

There is little movement at the top, however a number of prospects have shown improvement and put in strong performances over the last two months which is reflected in the new rankings.  We will re-rank the class of 2015 at the end of the fall season.

Risers in the top 25

A pair of Kansas State commits stood out this summer and improved their stock.  After being named KABC 4A-I Player of the Year RHP Brogan Heinen (Topeka Hayden) continued to make strides over the summer months, including an impressive outing at the Get Hits 4 Education All-Star Game in late August where he sat 87-88 mph with his fastball while showing command of a difference-making breaking ball.  He moves to #12.

Manhattan-bound LHP Davis Schwab (Blue Valley West) built on his KABC 6A All-State First Team performance in the spring with a solid summer, including a dominating outing at the PBR Kansas Class of 2015 Games where he bumped his fastball velocity to 85 mph while continuing to show feel for both off-speed pitches.  Schwab now sits at #14.

Uncommitted Derby HS product Nate Crossman is a KABC 6A All-State right-hand hitting outfielder with an impressive speed and strength combination.  He rises to #18.

Brandon Gomer, an uncommitted projectable 6-foor-4 right-handed pitcher who we previously had never seen throw a pitch higher than 86 mph, sat 86-89 and was in total control in two innings of work at the Midwest Fall Classic in Topeka earlier this month.  He moves up to #20.

Uncommitted OF Aaron Dees (Burlington) is a physically-impressive 6-foot, 185-pound athlete that moves to #24 in the rankings.  Everything he does on the field is easy and athletic, including a left-handed swing with leverage.  He also put in a KABC 4A-II All-State performance last spring.

OF Austin Hoegerl (Blue Valley Southwest) was the Timberwolves top offensive performer in the spring and put on a hitting clinic in batting practice and game action at the PBR Class of 2015 Games in August earning a bump to #25 in the updated rankings.  Hoegerl recently committed to Johnson County CC.
