MOKAN Preseason All-State: Quick Hits

On Sunday, February 11th, Prep Baseball Kansas made our annual trip to the Mac N Seitz Indoor Facility in Kansas City, MO, to host the MOKAN Preseason All-State. This invite-only event featured a multitude of the state's top prospects, representing Kansas and  Missouri's 2024-to-2027 classes, with over 130 players set to attend.

All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer.

Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

KANSAS PITCHERS

+ RHP Colton Roberts (Rose Hill, 2025) was a must see arm on the mound from this event. The strong-bodied, 6-foot-4, 190-pound uncommitted junior produced effortless velocity on the mound, pumping his fastball up to 89-91 mph, topping out at 91.8 mph. Alongside that velocity, Roberts’ played with natural carry, with an average vertical break of 13 inches. Roberts’ also mixed in a sharp curveball at 74-75 mph, a sweeping slider 75-78 mph, and a low spin change up at 74 mph.

+ Another big arm from the event, RHP Blake Sebastian (Blue Valley North, 2025) is an arm to follow. The physical 6-foot-6, 225-pound junior is an athletic mover downhill with a quick arm that produces easy velocity. Sebastian pitched at 88-90 mph with his fastball, averaging 2200+ RPM of spin. His best secondary pitch at the moment looks to be his slider, which he threw at 76-77 mph with a peak horizontal movement of 15.6 inches, while also showing a curveball at 69 mph and a change up at 78 mph. 

+ Sunday’s trip to the MOKAN Preseason All-State allowed us to get another look at RHP/CIF Hayes Allen (Bishop Carroll, 2025) who stood out earlier this year at the Wichita Preseason ID. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound uncommitted junior had another impressive showing this weekend, commanding a four pitch arsenal for strikes. Allen used his size and strength to produce an upper 80’s fastball that was up to 89 mph. Off of that, he showed a curveball at 71-73 mph, a cutter at 82-83 mph, and a change up at 79-80 mph.

+ Another uncommitted junior arm with an impressive showing this past weekend was RHP/CIF Jack Sells (Blue Valley West, 2025). Sells possesses a projectable 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame with a clean arm action. The righty’s fast ball played at 86-89 mph with a considerable amount of sink. Paired with that was an impressive slider at 79 mph with 2300+ RPM average and a low spring, tumbling changeup at 75-77 mph.

+ RHP/CIF Brett Liezert (Olathe East), the top overall player in Kansas’ 2027 class and top-100 nationally, showed why he is an upper-tier follow on the mound. The physical, 6-foot-1, 200-pound freshman showed smooth actions on the mound, producing effortless velocity with his fastball at 86-88 mph, peaking at 89 mph. Additionally, Liezert also spun a slider at 76-78 mph with 2400 average RPM, and a changeup at 76-80 mph. 

+ RHP/OF Alex Saad (Louisburg, 2025) will be a name to keep an eye on this spring. The uncommitted junior is built with strength and quick twitch at 6-foot, 180-pounds. On the mound, Saad pitched at 86-88 mph with his fastball with high ride, topping out at 89 mph. Additionally, the righty constantly spun a curveball at 73-75 for strikes with an upper-70s changeup to pair. 

+ RHP James Hunt (Blue Valley West, 2026) showed considerable upside on the mound this weekend in a 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Hunt, a top-25 prospect in Kansas’ 2026 rankings, showcased a fastball at 87-88 mph with natural run. The sophomore also flashed feel for the zone with a horizontal moving slider at 78 mph, and a changeup at 79-80 mph. 

+ RHP/CIF Milo Burton (Olathe East) continues to impress and show why he is the top ranked prospect in Kansas’ 2026 class. At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Burton offers plenty of projection on a frame with room to add on. The righty started the day on the mound, pitching his fastball in the high 80’s, topping out at 88 mph. He also spun a tight slider (71-72 mph) and a changeup (77-79 mph). That arm strength continued over to the infield where Burton produced one of the top infield velos of the day (89 mph) and ran a 3.73 30 to pair. At the plate, he used his long-levers to post exit velos up to 93.8 mph.  

+ 2023 Future Games participant INF/ RHP Cooper Grace (Hayden) continues to show why he is one of the top uncommitted follows Kansas’ 2025 class. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior swings a short, compact right-handed barrel that plays through the middle of the field, reaching a peak exit velocity of 97.6 mph. His arm played true across the diamond, producing a max velocity of 89 mph. Grace’s arm strength carried over to the mound where he showcased a four pitch mix with a fastball at 87-88 mph, a curveball at 71-75 mph, a changeup at 76 mph, and a slider at 74 mph.

+ RHP Michael Winter (Shawnee Mission East) is a top-10 arm in Kansas’ 2025 class. In Sunday’s look, the 6-foot-5, 210-pound righty showed a feel for the zone with all three pitches. Winter pitched at 85-87 mph with his fastball, showing natural run. Additionally, the righty spun a tight slider at 75-76, averaging 2360 RPM of spin, and a changeup at 76-77 mph.

+ Another uncommitted junior that caught our eye was RHP Cayman Cook (Lawrence Free State, 2025). At 6-foot-5, 225-pounds, Cook’s fastball played at 85-86 mph, peaking at 87 mph from a loose, whippy, high ¾ arm slot. He also spun a true 12-6 curveball paired with a low 1400 RPM spin change up.

+ Another standout two-way performance came from CIF/RHP Cale Fossett (Shawnee Mission North, 2026). A 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete, Fossett used smooth actions and an inside-out swing to drive the ball to all fields in his BP round, producing a max exit velocity of 92 mph. On the mound, Fossett pitched in the mid 80’s with his fastball while commanding a curveball/changeup mix for strikes. 

KANSAS POSITION PLAYERS

+ OF/RHP Carson Umphres (Great Bend, 2025) showed loud tools on both sides of the ball at the event this past weekend. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound uncommitted junior uses long limbs and levers to generate power at the plate, hitting multiple balls 100+ mph, topping out at 104 mph. Umphres’ long levers showed in the field as well, posting a 87 mph peak velocity from the outfield while also sitting 82-84 mph off the mound.

+ At 6-foot-7, 215-pounds, OF/RHP Ethan Hampton offers plenty of projectability and room to add on strength. The long-limbed righty swings an athletic, loud barrel, averaging 91.6 mph exit velocity, peaking at 100.3 mph, while having 75 mph of bat speed. Hampton was also among the top outfielders in the event in terms of outfield velocity at 87 mph. 

+ One of the top catchers in Kansas’ 2026 class, C Roy Roseman (Olathe West) had a standout performance at the event this past weekend. The physical, 6-foot, 185-pound uncommitted junior swung a flat barrel that showed gap to gap power throughout his round of BP. Still developing power, which should come as he adds strength to his frame, Roseman produced a peak exit velocity of 98.9 mph in this look. Behind the plate, the uncommitted junior posted one of the top pop times of the day with a 1.88-2.10 mark. 

+ Fellow catcher and Olathe West teammate, Micah McGavran (Olathe West, 2025) continues to show off his physicality in all aspects of the game. In BP, McGavran swung a strong right-handed barrel with natural lift that drove balls with power to all fields, sending his best ball 344 feet with a 97.5 mph exit velocity. A 2023 Future Games participant, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound junior, ran a 3.78 second 30 and paired that with a 1.95-2.13 pop time.

+ C/INF/RHP Parker Clubb (Mulvane, 2026; Louisville commit) put his loud skill-set on display throughout Sunday’s workout. Packed with power at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, Clubb started the day by showing off a live arm across the diamond and from behind the plate, posting 91 and 81 mph velocities respectively. At the plate, the sophomore hammered balls from gap to gap, generating 77 mph bat speed and 98 mph exit velocity. Additionally, Clubb ran a 3.87 second 30 which was among the top marks at the event

+ INF Terran Marshall (Mill Valley, 2025) is an upside athlete to keep an eye on this spring. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound uncommitted junior possessed a polished, simple right-handed barrel that produced a max exit velocity of 96.8 mph. Defensively, Marshall posted a 83 mph mark across and showcased clean, athletic actions in the infield to pair.

+ OF Eli Dean (Perry-Lecompton, 2025) had a strong showing on both sides of the ball in this look. Dean was consistently on his barrel throughout his BP round, driving the ball through the middle of the field with a smooth right-handed swing. Still developing power, which should come as he adds strength to his frame, Dean produced a peak exit velocity of 89.3 mph in this look. Additionally, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete was up to 89 mph from the outfield, while running a 3.91 second 30.

+ One of the biggest winners from this past weekend was C/INF William Howard (Basehor-Linwood, 2025), who is a high-follow, uncommitted athlete to know in the state of Kansas. At 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, Howard is plenty physical with strength throughout. Offensively, Howard showed bat speed and strength with the intent to elevate the baseball throughout his round, sending his furthest ball 344 feet. Behind the plate, the junior posted a top-3 pop time of 1.88-1.96 to go along with a 86 mph velocity - tops at the event. Additionally, Howard ran a 3.92 30.

+ INF Ben Graves (Lawrence Free State,2026) was another standout with from the event this past weekend. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete offers plenty of room to add on to a projectable frame. Graves showed a smooth left-handed swing that delivered barrels consistently through the middle of the field with natural lift. Defensively, the sophomore posted a 81 mph velocity across the infield paired with a 3.93 second 30.

+ INF/OF Connor Bohon (Mill Valley, 2025) came away from his Prep Baseball debut as a name to follow in Kansas’ 2025 class. Offensively, Bohon showed bat speed and strength in a gap to gap athletic swing that posted a top exit velocity of 95 mph. Additionally, Bohon threw his hardest ball from the outfield at 82 mph and ran a 3.74 second 30.

+ An uncommitted bat to keep an eye on this spring, OF Taccarri Brown (Wichita Northwest, 2024), impressed on both sides of the ball in this look. At 6-foot-2, 165- pounds, Brown has plenty of room to add size and strength. He was among the event leaders in both outfield velocity (86 mph) and 30 yard time (3.83 second). At the plate, Brown used an effortless swing with natural lift to comfortably drive balls from gap to gap with power.

+ A top-10 outfielder in Kansas’ 2025 class, OF Isaac Lager (Bishop Carroll) had a strong showing at Sunday’s event. Listed at 6-foot, 180-pounds, Lager showed noticeable bat speed and explosiveness in a right-handed swing resulting in a top exit velocity of 94 mph. Additionally, the junior logged a 3.72 30 time to pair.

MISSOURI PITCHERS

+ RHP Cameron Taylor (Kearney, 2026) had a standout showing on the mound this weekend. A 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete, Taylor gets downhill with intent for an easy repeatable delivery. He threw his fastball for strikes in the upper-80’s, topping out at 92 mph for the day. Additionally, the sophomore showed feel for the zone with both of his offspeed pitches, spinning a curveball at 71-73 mph and tossing a changeup at 75-76 mph.

+ RHP Haden Terrill (Wellington-Napoleon, 2025) is a 6-foot-6, 230-pound uncommitted arm to follow from this event. Terrill showed smooth easy actions on the mound while throwing his fastball at 88-89 with high ride. He then paired that with a tight 2300+ spin slider at 79-80. Rounding out his arsenal was a changeup at 81-84 mph.

+ LHPJohnny Carver (Ray-Pec; Arkansas commit) continued to show why he is one of the top arms in Missouri’s 2026 class. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound sophomore was consistently between 85-86 mph with his fastball, showing natural run at times. Additionally, Carver threw a changeup at 77-78 with fade, flashing feel for the zone.

MISSOURI POSITION PLAYERS

+ The top ranked catcher in Missouri’s 2026 class, Kendall Hagedorn (Smith-Cotton) is a high-follow, name-to-know athlete. Hagedorn swings with aggression and intent at the plate posting a top exit velocity of 100.6 mph, while averaging 94.5 mpg; sending his furthest ball 332 feet. The bat speed, balance, and ease of power he’s able to generate at the plate are noteworthy. His strong 6-foot, 180-pound frame played well behind the plate, generating 1.88-1.95 pop times and a top velocity of 80 mph. Additionally, the sophomore ran a 3.81 30.

+ CIF Beau Neuburger (Rockhurst, 2025) is as strong and physical as they come. At 6-foot, 215-pounds, Neuburger uses that strength at the plate to deliver barrels through the middle of the field with natural elevation, driving balls with juice to all fields. He produced a max exit velocity of 98.6 to go alongside a max distance of 324 feet and a max bat speed of 76.6 mph. Defensively, Neuburger showed feel and footwork around the bag with a clean two hand gather to pair.

+ A top-5 prospect in Missouri’s 2026 class, OF/RHP Rocco Marriott (Platte County, 2026) put a loud, projectable skill-set on display in Sunday’s event. At 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, Marriott started off the day by showing off his athleticism by posting a 3.77 30 time and a 30.7” vertical. In BP, Marriott used a quick (25.7 mph hand speed), long-levered swing with natural lift to produce a max exit velocity of 98.4 mph and send his furthest ball 351 feet. Marriott’s long levers also played in the outfield where his mark of 89 mph finished top two at the event. 

+ INF/RHP Brennan McLaughlin (Platte County, 2026) is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound sophomore that looked the part on both sides of the ball on Sunday. At the plate, McLaughlin swings a loose, free-flowing right-handed barrel that sprayed line drives gap-to-gap throughout his round of BP. With power to come as he adds strength to his frame, McLaughlin produced a peak exit velocity of 94.1 mph in this look. His arm played strong across the diamond peaking at 87 mph on his firmest bullet. To wrap up the day, McLaughlin hopped on the mound and pitched in the low-to-mid 80’s with a slider/changeup mix to pair. 

+ Another upside athlete to follow from this event is MIF William Bologna (Liberty North, 2026). There is plenty of room to add strength and size on his projectable, lean frame at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Bologna is polished and balanced from the right side, repeating a rhythmic right-handed swing with consistency. Those polished movements transferred over to the infield where he had a sense of ease and fluidity to him. 

+ OF Austin Marsh (Lee's Summit West, 2024; Northwest Missouri State signee) was on the barrell throughout his round of BP, with a short, powerful swing that produced line drives through the middle of the field for a max exit velocity of 96.1 mph. His furthest ball traveled 354 ft - the highest mark of the day. From the outfield, Marsh showed off his arm strength, leading the event in outfield velocity as well with a 91 mph bullet. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior, showed no shortage of athleticism, running a 3.73 30 (top 2 at the event) and posting a event leading 38.2" vertical. 

+ OF/RHP Brody Crane (Neosho, 2026) was a winner on both sides of the ball. Built with plenty of strength at 6-foot, 205-pounds, Crane found the barrel to consistantly produce loud contact throughout his BP round. He squared his firmest ball up at 98 mph. Crane's strength carried over to the oufield where his peak velocity was 86 mph. Afterwards, Crane hopped on the mound where he was up to 91 mph with his fastball with the aptitude to spin a 76-78 mph slider and 81 mph changeup for strikes.

+ 2023 Junior Futures Game participant OF Warren Robertson (Rockhurst, 2027) had a standout showing at Sunday's event. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Robertson is a top-15 prospect in Missouri's 2027 class. An athletic mover, Robertson swung a flat, right-handed barrel, driving balls through the middle of the field with power, reaching 92.5 exit velocity for his max exit velocity. From the outfield, the sophomore was among the event leaders with a 88 mph top velocity.
