On Thursday, July 25th, Team Kansas kicked off the gameplay portion of this year’s Future Games with a 5-4 win over Team Missouri. Several prospects from the ‘Sunflower State’ state showed well in the opening act, and you’ll learn more about them below.

+ MIF Ethan Carswell (Blue Valley, 2026) continued a positive start to the Future Games in Thursday’s contest against Missouri, picking up a pair of singles from the left side of the plate. Carswell, who has always impressed our staff with the glove, looked the part defensively up the middle as well. 

+ One of the top prospects in the class, RHP Max Hamilton (Olathe West, 2026) drew the start for Kansas in the opening act, punching out four in a pair of innings. Packed with physicality at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, Hamilton pitched almost exclusively at 90 mph in his first inning of work, settling into the upper-80s as he went on from an easy, low-effort operation. His primary secondary proved to be a changeup, which he threw down in the zone at 79-81 mph with fastball intent. On occasion, Hamilton would turn to a short wrinkle 75-78 mph breaking ball to round out his arsenal. 

+ INF Blake Jay (Mill Valley, 2026) took a polished round of BP at Wednesday’s workout and translated his bat-to-ball to yesterday’s game action. The 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter totaled a pair of singles for Team Kansas in the win. 

+ MIF/OF Brady Stewart (St. Thomas Aquinas, 2026) was another winner from the workout day, showing a simple and direct left-handed stroke that effortlessly sprayed line drives to all fields in BP. On Thursday, Stewart singled in his second trip to the plate and followed that with a barreled lineout to center field. 

+ RHP Otto Knust (Shawnee Mission South, 2026) turned in a loud two-inning appearance out of the ‘pen. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-hander pitched in the mid-to-upper-80s as he went on, though his fastball did sit 90-91 mph early on in his outing. He spun a breaking ball at 71-75 mph and also turned over a low-to-mid-70s changeup. 

+ RHP Max McKenna (Shawnee Mission South, 2026) tossed a pair of clean innings to close things out for Team Kansas in the win. His fastball played in the upper-80s with late life up in the zone at times, peaking at 90 mph on his firmest bullet. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound McKenna ripped off a tight mid-70s slider with late break and clear tunnel that flashed swing-and-miss potential.
