MoCo Fall Review: Corner Infield Analysis

Close to 50 prospects from around the Old Line State in the 2020 - 2024 graduating classes participated at this year's MoCo Fall Review at Damascus High School. Players showcased their skills in a pro-style workout, batting practice, and bullpens in front of the PBR scouting staff. Below are evaluations on the 11 corner infielders. THE CORNER INFIELDERS

Ryan Domer 1B / RHP / Damascus, MD / 2023

Athletic body type and projectable 6’0’’, 175 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate with some rhythm. High leg kick load and sits on back side with balance. Short to the ball with a more level swing path. Stays on the ball very well with good balance throughout the swing. Generates some lower half involvement and finishes swing with two hands. Middle to pull-side line drive approach with occasional pop. Recorded a 72 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball at first base fielding it out in front with an athletic setup and strong base. Throws with long arm action from a three-quarters slot at 64 mph. Ran a 8.26 60-yard time. 


Nolan Fridman 3B / RHP / Huntingtown, MD / 2021

Athletic body type and projectable 6’3’’, 170 pound frame with room to fill out. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a small leg kick. Stays behind the ball well with a short, level swing path that gets slightly uphill at times. Generates quick bat speed through the hitting zone with some lower half involvement. Gets excellent extension through contact and showed nice balance throughout the swing finishing with one hand. Worked gap-to-gap squaring up several balls and showed some present power. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. Moves well in the infield at third base and works through the ball. Athletic set-up fielding the ball out in front and gains ground on throws. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarter slot at 72 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.43 60-yard time. 


Ryan Gagen 1B / OF / Damascus, MD / 2023

Long, athletic, lanky body type and projectable 6’1’’, 150 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Short back load lowering hands and taking a small stride. Short, direct, slightly uphill swing path generating some lower half involvement. Showed quick bat speed through the zone and gets good extension past contact. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with occasional pop. Recorded a 68 mph exit velocity. Moves well around the bag at first base and works through the ball fielding it out in front from an athletic base. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 63 mph. Ran a 7.75 60-yard time.


Jake Garrett LHP / 1B / Damascus, MD / 2022

Solid body type and 6’1’’, 210 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate from the left side. Rock-back load with a front foot toe-tap to stride. Creates nice hand separation and stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement. Stays short to the ball with an uphill swing path. Gets excellent extension through contact and finishes strong with two hands. Pull-side approach with power present. Recorded an 81 mph exit velocity. Works low to the ball and fields it out in front with a strong base. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 73 mph. Ran a 8.31 60-yard time.


Cam Love LHP / 1B / Damascus High School, MD / 2022

Athletic body type and 5’11’’, 155 pound frame with room to grow and fill out. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate from the left side. Uses a small leg kick to load and creates some hand separation. Generates some lower half involvement and showed quick bat speed through the zone with a more level swing path. Gets good extension through contact and stays behind the ball well with a strong two-handed finish. Uses the whole field well with a nice gap-to-gap line drive approach. Showed some pop and recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. Works through the ball at first base fielding it out in front with an athletic base and set-up. Throws with shorter arm action from a mid three-quarters slot at 71 mph. Ran a 7.39 60-yard time. 


Tyson Mogot 3B / RHP / Clarksburg , MD / 2023

Athletic body type and 5’9’’, 150 pound frame. Hits from a slightly crouched, open stance at the plate. Slight rock-back load with a medium sized leg kick. Attacks the ball with intent and showed fast bat speed through the zone with a level swing path. Stays behind the ball well with a strong lower half. Gets good extension through contact and finishes with two hands. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with some pop. Recorded a 72 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball at third base fielding it out in front with a strong, athletic base. Throws with short, whippy arm action from a mid three-quarter slot at 74 mph. Showed the ability to throw from a lower slot with accuracy on slow-rollers. Ran a 7.25 60-yard time. 


Daniel Nasoff LHP / 1B / Damascus, MD / 2020

Strong, solid body type and projectable 6’4’’, 210 pound frame. Hits from a tall, open stance with feet close together at the plate from the left side. Quick load and stride with good hand separation. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement. Showed quick bat speed through the zone and an uphill swing path. Finishes strong with two hands. Power type hitter with some gap-to-gap feel. Recorded an 85 mph exit velocity. Works through the ball at first base fielding it out in front and funnels quick to chest. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot across the diamond at 68 mph. Drops down some on double play feeds to second with a quick, clean exchange. Ran a 8.50 60-yard time. 


Jeremy Patchett 1B / 3B / St. Michaels, MD / 2021

Strong, solid body type and 5’11’’, 205 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate. Short, quick load with nice hand separation. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement. Swings with intent and showed quick bat speed through the zone with a compact uphill swing path. Gets excellent extension past contact and finishes strong uphill with two hands. Gap-to-gap type hitter with present power at the plate. Recorded a 79 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball at first base fielding it out in front and funneling it quick to chest. Throws with long arm action from a lower three-quarter slot at 72 mph. Ran a 8.00 60-yard time. 


Levi Perez RHP / 1B / Damascus, MD / 2021

Strong, solid body type and projectable 6’4’’, 220 pound frame. Hits from an open stance at the plate with weight pre-loaded on back side. Smooth back load with a front foot toe-tap. Stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement. Creates quick bat speed through the hitting zone with a level swing path. Top hand comes off the bat early after contact and finishes swing hard with one-hand. Pull-side approach at the plate with present power. Recorded a 77 mph exit velocity. Works through the ball at first base and fields it out in front from a taller set-up. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 71 mph.


Jackson Thomas 1B / 3B / Damascus, MD / 2021

Strong, solid body type and 6’4’’, 230 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate from the left side with rhythm. Short back load and small leg kick. Stays short to the ball with quick bat speed and a slightly uphill swing path. Generates some lower half involvement and gets good extension past contact with a one-handed finish. Pull-side approach with present power. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. Fields the ball out in front at third base and throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 72 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.82 60-yard time.


Mike Wineke 1B / LHP / Calvert Hall, MD / 2021

Strong, solid body type and 6’0’’, 220 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate from the left side. Short back load and average stride length creating some hand separation. Stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement. Generates quick bat speed through the zone and showed a more level swing path. Gets good extension past contact and finishes swing with one hand. Pull-side approach with present power at the plate. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. Fields the ball out in front at first base and throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 72 mph. Drops to a mid three-quarter slot with clean exchanges on feeds to second base. Ran a 8.02 60-yard time.
