Orchard Lake St. Marys vs Novi Catholic Central - 3/27/21

Alex Mooney SS / 3B / Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep, MI / 2021

Report: Mooney showed a knack for being on base reaching 7 times total on the day. Swiped 3 bags and sprayed the ball accomplishing every hit possible besides a homerun. He has a high IQ and the skills that will carry him extremely far in the game. 

  • Body Type: Athletic frame with wide shoulders. 6-foot-1, 185 pounds 
  • Power: Playable game power that will continue to develop.  
  • Running: Instinctual baserunner with a quick first step.

Brock Porter RHP / 1B / Orchard Lake St Marys, MI / 2022

Report: Porter was quite impressive in his first outing of the year. In 50 degree weather showcased a mid to upper 90's fastball. His sixty pitch of the outing was 99 mph. Showing a solid three pitch mix he struck 10 batters while allowing no runs through 4.2 innings. 

  • Body type: 6-foot-3, 195 pound prospect with room to continue filling out.  
  • Delivery: Polished repeatable delivery with loose arm action.  
  • Fastball: Command with arm side run, exploding out of his hand.  
  • Change up: Deceiving arm arm action with late fading action. Plus pitch that is currently his best pitch. Produces roll overs and swing and miss action.  
  • Slider: Late action on the pitch downward motion thrown from the same arm slot as the fastball.
