Season Outlook
The Smithville Warriors will play mostly Class 5 schedule this spring and was 11-2 vs. Class 4 opponents last year.  In 2017, the Warriors were were game away from qualifying for the Class 4 Final Four.  This spring, they have five position players and two pitchers returning.  They will be lead by one of the top shortstops in the state in senior Karsen Reid and one of the fastest outfielders in the state in senior Bobby Orr.  The Warriors will feature a pair of senior arms that will be tough on any opponent.  Senior RHP Brandon Sulzer came on late last season and had a big postseason for the Warriors recording 25 strikeouts in 15 innings. Senior lefty Michael Tyhurst features a fastball in the mid-80's and will throw big innings this spring.  A pair of All-District players will round out the infield in senior Rafael Tormes and junior Jarin Nitsche.  Watch for the Warriors to take the next step this spring and compete for a spot in the Missouri Class 4 Final Four.
