Fall Underclass Games: Outfielders Analysis

For the fifth year, Prep Baseball Report - Missouri/Kansas held the Fall Underclass Games in Manhattan, Kansas at Kansas State University.  Nearly 50 players from Missouri and Kansas participated in teh 2021 and 2020 classes.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.

Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Outfielders

Scott Adams OF / RHP / Maize , KS / 2021

Adams is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.64 60 and a 4.94 home to first.  He has an exit velocity of 72 mph. At the plate, starts slightly open, short stride, quick bat speed, swing produced mostly pull side contact during batting practice, body stays under control during swing.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional veto, three quarters release, quick to the ball, work behind and through the catch, mostly accurate throws.

Blake Andersen RHP / 1B / Olathe East, KS / 2020

Andersen is a long legged 6-foot-2 173-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.50 60 and a 4.81 home to first.  He has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts open, smooth rhythm in load, slight hand load, fast bat and aggressive bat speed, gap to gap contact, occasional pull side power, solid consistent contact during batting batting practice, loose hands, ripled to right center in game action.  In the outfield, 81 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm slot, long arm circle, momentum through the catch and after the throw, fluid transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Sam Bryan RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2021

Bryan is a lean 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.90 60 and a 5.15 home to first.  He has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, smooth and simple load into back side, in line stride, consistent middle of the field line drives, flashed pull side power, quick bat speed, hit a pair of double to center field in game action.  In the outfield, 85 mph positional velo, loose three quarters release, throws down hill, clean transfer and throw, fluid footwork, aggressive to the ball, mostly accurate throws.

Riley Clancy OF / LHP / St. John Vianney, MO / 2021

Clancy is a 5-foot-11 155-pound left handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.50 60 and a 4.78 home to first.  He has a 70 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, short in line stride, hands work inside the ball, short path to contact, middle to opposite  field line drives, feel for the barrel, doubled to right center field and singled through the right side during game action.  In the outfield, 70 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, fluid glove to hand exchange in sync with fluid footwork, works behind the ball, mostly accurate throws.

Jacob Dillon 3B / RHP / Olathe North, KS / 2020

Dillon is a stong and athletic 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.51 60 and a 4.68 home to first. He has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate,  starts slightly open, controlled load into back side, no wasted movement in hands, strong hands, quick swing, body stays under control, gap to gap approach, pull side power, doubled twice to left center in game action.  In the outfield, 85 mph positional velocity, loose arm action, throws downhill, momentum after the catch, quick to the ball, clean transfer with quick feet, mostly accurate throws.

Cameron Draeger OF / RHP / Columbus , KS / 2021

Draeger is a lean and loose 6-foot 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas 2021 class.  He ran a 7.65 60 and 5.02 home to first.  He has a 71 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, quick tempo, short stride, loose hand, level bat path, gap to gap line drives, doubled to left in game action. In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, loose high three quarters arm slot, arm works, aggressive to the ball, fluid transfer with quick feet, mostly accurate throws.

Ethan Haufler SS / OF / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2020

Haufler is a 5-foot-10 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.51 60 and a 4.96 home to first.  He has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, short in line stride, aggressive bat speed, consistent gap-gap line drives, level bat path, showed pull side power.  In the outfield, 69 mph positional velocity, high three quarter release, quick to the ball, momentum through the catch, clean transfer and throw.

Kaeden Hoefer OF / RHP / Goddard, KS / 2020

Hoefer is a strong 6-foot 179-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.26 60 and a 4.95 home to first.  He has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, repeatable load, short in line stride, consistent contact gap to gap, had manipulate the bat. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, fluid actions to the ball, plays through the catch, long arm circle, fluid footwork in sync with transfer, mostly accurate throws. 

Tyler Large OF / RHP / Pembroke Hill, MO / 2021

Large is a lean and loose 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.64 60 and 5.22 home to first.  He has a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, short and smooth load, little wasted hand movement, quick hands with aggressive bat speed, gap to gap contact, doubled to right center in game action.  In the outfield, 68 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, high three quarters arm slot, crow hop, quick to the ball, loose arm action, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate. 

Nate Lemke OF / RHP / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2020

Lemke is a strong 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.47 60 and a 4.57 home to first.  He has an exit velocity of 83 mph. At the plate, no wasted movement in load, works into back leg, level path, stays on ball after contact, showed power to pull side, mostly middle to pull side contact during batting practice, repeats, homered to left in game action.  In the outfield, 83 mph positional velocity, over the top release, quick to the ball, quick catch and throw, fluid transfer with quick feet, mostly accurate throws.

Bradley Poletis OF / RHP / Rockhurst, MO / 2021

Poletis is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.76 60 and a4.91 home to first.  He has a 78 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts in a tall and open stance, reverse toe tap, long in line stride, hits with leverage in back side, swing produced mostly pull side line drives during batting practice, singled and doubled to center field in game action.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action, fluid footwork, clean transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Cameron Roll OF / 2B / Timberland , MO / 2020

Roll is a 5-foot-9 145-pound switch hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.60 60 and a 4.75 home to first.  He has a 71 mph right handed exit velocity and a 73 mph exit velocity from left side. At the plate, mechanics similar from both sides, balanced set up, controlled leg kick, in line stride, gap to gap approach, more consistent contact from left side, slight lift to left handed swing, tripled down left field line in game action.  In the outfield, 80 mph positional velocity, over the top release, loose arm action, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.

Wesley Stang 1B / RHP / Olathe South , KS / 2020

Stang is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.56 60 and a 5.10 home to first.  He has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, slightly open, long in line stride, leverage from back side, smooth and repeatable load, swing produced mostly middle to pull side contact.  In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, over the top release, momentum after the catch, fluid actions to the ball, clean transfer with fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.

Aaron Urrutia LHP / OF / Garden City, KS / 2020

Urrutia is a 5-foot-6 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.91 60 and a 5.08 home to first.  He has a 77 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, slightly closed, quiet hands in load, short stride, loose and quick hands through the zone, hands work inside the ball, gap to gap approach, singled through left side in game action.  In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, over the top release, crow hop, fluid actions, quick transfer, mostly accurate throws, works behind the ball.
