Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the first annual OK Jr. Future Games Trials this past Sunday at Deer Creek HS and Edge Sports Fitness indoor facility in Edmond, OK. This invite only event featured nearly 40 of the top players from the 2023 and 2022 classes in Oklahoma. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to show their skills and record measurables in front the PBR staff. 

Today, we take a look at the talented 2023 grads who upgraded to full profiles with video and full scouting reports. Each players full profile can be seen by clicking on their picture.

Si Collins 3B / RHP / Pryor, OK / 2023

A physically advanced and still developing 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly closed and wide stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big and smooth knee-knock load before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field, flashed some pop and bat speed, found some barrels 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 9.06 60. Defensively, shows soft hands and the ability to throw from multiple slots, projects best as a third baseman, 67 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled and deliberate delivery. Arm circle is moderate in the back before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball sits 67-69 mph with arm side run, consistently around the zone.  Knuckle curveball is advanced with big 11/5 shape and depth. 

Jacob Escovedo 1B / LHP / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2023

A developing 5-foot-4, 120-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an open and balanced approach with rhythm in his hands. Uses a toe-tap stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, showed a true all fields approach barreling balls to all fields with an advanced swing, 71 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.53 60. Defensively, plays a clean first base with good lateral movement, good hands, and an accurate arm, 64 mph across the diamond.

Brance Garrett 1B / LHP / Yukon , OK / 2023

A lean and developing 5-foot-6, 135-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy and upright set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a hanging leg kick and moderate stride before launching his hands on a short path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field, flat approach flashing some bat speed and finding some barrels, 71 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.44 60. Defensively, at first base, shows clean actions and soft hands, makes accurate throws with arm strength, 69 mph to second base. On the mound, the left-hander uses an up-tempo and athletic delivery. Arm action is long in the back before coming through a low-¾ slot with looseness and quickness. Fastball sits 71-72 mph with heavy arm side run, fills up the zone. Curveball has 1/7 shape with depth at 58-61 mph. Changeup has late and heavy fade 60-62 mph.

Tyler Johnson 1B / LHP / Lincoln Christian, OK / 2023

A durable 5-foot-4, 155-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a front-foot heavy and slightly wide set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth rocking load and moderate stride before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with excellent extension. In BP, showed a pull approach on the ground, some barrels, 72 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.71 60. Defensively, plays first base with energy and active feet. Throws from a side arm slot with accuracy, 60 mph to second. On the mound, the left-hander pitched from a deliberate and controlled delivery with a moderate leg kick. Arm action is full in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 68-70 mph with late arm side run, lots of strikes. Changeup ranges 62-64 mph and shows consistent fade. Curveball is developing at 53-54 mph. 

Nathan Murphy C / 3B / Bixby, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-6, 135-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, balanced and athletic set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a short and smooth load before a toe-tap stride and launching his hands on a slightly uphill path through extension. In BP, shows a gap-to-gap approach with some lift, consistent pull pop and mostly barrels, 82 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.25 60. Defensively, shows advanced hands receiving behind the dish. Covers ground with foot work on throw downs and blocks well. Throws from a high ¾ slot with some accuracy, 2.19-2.34 pop times, 72 mph to second. Also athletic enough to play third.

Kasen LeGrand 3B / RHP / Canute, OK / 2023

A durable 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an athletic and balanced set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a small load and a moderate stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with advanced bat speed. In BP, shows a middle of the field to pull side, flat approach with big pop for his age, some barrels, 85 mph exit velocity. Defensively, shows active feet and good hands. Throws from a high ¾ slot with some accuracy, 68 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with a short leg lift. Has quality leg drive down the mound. Arm action is full in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed. Fastball sits 72-74 mph with slight arm side run, some strikes. Curveball has 11/5 shape with rolling depth at 55-58 mph. 

Dylan Snider SS / RHP / Lockwood, MO / 2023

A developing 5-foot-2, 145-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an athletic setup with rhythm throughout. Uses big and slow knee-knock leg kick before dropping his hands and pulling them through an uphill path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 65 mph exit velo. Defensively, shows deliberate actions with stationary feet when feilding. Throws from a high-¾ slot with accuracy, 63 mph across the diamond. On the mound, the right-hander uses an uptempo delivery with a moderate leg kick that he repeats well. Arm action is full in the back coming through a ¾ slot with some looseness and quickness. Fastball sits 60-61 mph, mostly strikes. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape and some depth. 

Colt Weaver RHP / 1B / Calera, OK / 2023

An extremely projectable 6-foot-4, 180 pound frame with wiry strength and long limbs. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy set-up with some bend in his waist and rhythm in his hands. Uses a short load and almost no stride before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path through extension with bat speed. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with consistent lift, exit velo of 78 mph. Runs a 7.40 60. Defensively, shows some stiffness, but moves well for his size with active feet and consistent hands, throws from an high-¾ slot with accuracy, 73 mph to second. On the mound, the long right-hander works from an uptempo delivery with high leg kick. Arm action is moderate in the back getting high above his head quickly before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 72-76 with downhill tilt, mostly strikes. Changeup is 53-54 mph with some fade. Curveball is 51 mph. Both off speed pitches are still developing. 

Brand Wilson C / RHP / Lookeba Sickles , OK / 2023

A developing 5-foot-11, 130-pound lean frame with long legs. Offensively, the capable switch hitter showed a balanced and athletic set-up with rhythm in his hands from both sides. Uses a bigger leg kick from the right before launching his hands on a flat path from both sides. From the left side, Wilson shows a gap-to-gap and flat approach, finding mostly barrels, 75 mph exit velo. From the right-side, Wilson shows a pull approach. Runs an 8.47 60. Defensively, shows clean and deliberate actions, makes clean throws with accuracy, 2.29-2.60 pop times, 68 mph to second. On the mound, the right-hander uses an average tempo athletic delivery with a high leg kick. Is long and fluid in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 71-75 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball has rolling 11/5 shape, 57-60 mph. Changeup has some fade at 62-63 mph. 

Trey Wood RHP / OF / Wagoner, OK / 2023

A developing and lean 5-foot-7, 120-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter uses a knock-kneed and slightly back leg heavy set-up. Uses an arm-bar load and short stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, finds mostly barrels with a middle to opposite field, flat/ground approach, 76 mph exit velo. Defensively, shows advanced footwork and hands, and makes the slow roller play with athleticism. Throws from multiple slots with different arm strokes depending on the play, with accuracy, 67 mph. Though he could not get on the mound, the right-hander tossed a flat ground showing an average tempo delivery with rhythm. Arm action is long and fluid in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with quickness. Threw a fastball, changeup, and curveball all for strikes in the flat ground.  

Brock West C / SS / Choctaw , OK / 2023

A 5-foot-8, 148-pound long and lean frame with some wiry strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a knock-kneed set-up with bend in his knees and waist. Uses a smooth load with a small leg kick and a long stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows an opposite to middle of the field approach, finding some barrels with some bat speed and leverage, 77 mph exit velo. Defensively, behind the dish shows a well advanced ability to receive and block. Exchanges are quick and clean, throws from a high-¾ slot with accuracy, 2.20-2.46 pop times and 64 mph arm strength. Also athletic enough to play in the middle infield.  Runs a 7.70 60. On the mound, the right-hander pitches out of an abbreviated windup with controlled rhythm and a high leg kick. Arm action is long in the back coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 68-71 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with some rolling depth, 59-61. Knuckleball has some dance at 63-64 mph.
