Shon Plack
Missouri Scouting Director

Henry Boeckmann
(De Smet, 2016) is a 6-foot-6 176-pound left-handed pitcher.  He finished his junior year as part of talented pitching staff at De Smet.  Boeckmann compiled 10.2 innings, recording eight strikeouts and 1.97 ERA.  At the Class of 2016 Games, his fastball was 80 mph with some deception in his delivery.  In the winter, at PBR's Top Gun Pitchers Showcase, his fastball registered at 82 mph.  Boeckmann is a projectable pitcher with lean build, and loose arm action.

Boeckmann has giving us a look inside his recruiting process.  Here is what he has going on.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Boeckmann: I have been looking at schools with good computer science programs cause that is a major of interest but still deciding what I would like to do.

PBR: Recap your junior season for us at De Smet.  Name some players that played a key role for De Smet in 2015.

Boeckmann: My De Smet Jesuit baseball experience was a great learning experience being my first year on varsity. The new coaches help the learning experience because they were just like me. I think the biggest roles were John Smith, Michael Plassmeyer, and Dan Hornsey. They made it the easy to feel welcome into the team and really help the team progress and work together.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Boeckmann: My goal for senior year is to be one of the top starting pitchers on the team and lead my team to a District Championship.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Boeckmann: I’m currently playing for the Missouri Tigers. I’m not sure who I am going to play for this fall but I do intend to play fall ball.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Boeckmann: I only play recreational basketball but I am thinking about trying to play varsity basketball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Boeckmann: I just got a 23 on the july ACT and I currently have a GPA of 3.61.
