Scout Day: Prodigy - Pitcher Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the Prodigy Scout Day Scout Day on February 23 at the Prodigy Baseball Facility in Parkville, Missouri. Nearly forty players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a 
ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Pitchers

Justin Agnor OF / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

Agnor is a 5-foot-8, 135-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, athletic delivery, high leg kick, directional towards target, smooth and fluid delivery, loose arm action, three-quarter release. Fastball is 73-75 mph, thrown for strikes, arm side run, changeup is 67-69 mph, near fastball arm speed, fading action, occasional sink, curveball is sharp at times, 11-to-5 shape, near fastball arm speed.

Zach Buschschulte SS / 2B / Staley, MO / 2021

Buschschulte is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, athletic delivery, smooth and fluid actions that work into an aggressive finish, directional towards home plate, loose arm action, repeats delivery. Fastball is 74-76 with some run, thrown for strikes down in the zone, changeups are 64-65 mph, fastball arm speed, depth, curveball is 64-67 mph, mostly gradual action, some occasional late bite.

Patrick Compton C / 3B / Oak Park, MO / 2020

Compton is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, simple delivery, high leg kick, accelerates down the mound, clean arm action, over the top release, regular effort, some rhythm with delivery, mixed fastball and curveball during bullpen session, fastball was 71-74 mph, mostly straight, occasional cut action, thrown to the top part of the strike zone, curveball is 64-67 mph, gradual action, 12-to-6 shape.

Harrison Day 3B / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

Day is a strong and athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, athletic frame, strong build, loose arm action, high three-quarter release, delivery gains momentum as he works down the mound, high effort delivery. Fastball is 82-86 mph, arm side run, thrown for strikes, changeup is 67-70 mph, fading action to arm side, slows arm, curve ball is 69-71 mph, 11-to-5 shape, late downward action.

Alex Foster RHP / 1B / Park Hill South, MO / 2021

Foster is a big bodied 5-foot-10, 210-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Foster works at a little quicker tempo, regular effort, fluid and repeatable delivery, loose arm action, high-three quarter and accelerates down the mound to the catcher, showed the ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball is 79-81 mph, arm side run, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, curveball is 70-72 mph, mostly gradual action but does have some occasional bite, 11-to-5 shape, changeup is 67-72 mph, good fading action, near fastball arm speed.

Eddie Freidel 2B / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

Freidel is a 5-foot-7, 130-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, works primarily from the windup, simple delivery, accelerates down the mound, clean arm action, high three-quarter release, fluid movements. Fastball is 68-72 mph, strikes at the bottom of the zone, arm side run, changeup is 63-64 mph, some sink, slows arm, curveball is 56-60 mph, mostly gradual action, 11-to-5 shape.

Kaleb Harbrucker SS / RHP / Oak Park, MO / 2020

Harbrucker is a 6-foot, 154-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, Harbrucker shows a simple delivery, high leg kick, accelerates down the mound, shorter arm action, high three-quarter slot, directional towards target. Fastball is 65-68 mph, occasional cut, thrown for strikes, changeup is 54-56 mph has occasional cut, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 54-58 mph, downward action, near fastball arm speed.

Kenny Hoover OF / RHP / Park Hill South, MO / 2021

Hoover is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound, right-handed right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Hoover has a simple and compact delivery, in line stride, directional towards target, higher glove side action aid with deception, short arm action, iver the top release, accelerates down the mound, fastball is 67-70 mph, around the zone, curveball is 56-60 mph, gradual action, 12-to-6 shape, near fastball arm speed, changeup is 64-66 mph. 

 

Camren Huber LHP / 1B / Park Hill South, MO / 2020

Huber is a strong-bodied 6-foot-1, 245-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Works primarily from the stretch, simple leg lift, stride in line with home plate, mostly repeatable delivery, high three-quarter release, works a slower tempo then accelerates down the mound, regular effort. Fastball is 70-75 mph, thrown for strikes, showed feel for his slider, 58-63 mph, mostly gradual action, 2-to-8 shape.

Corbin Kamradt RHP / OF / Liberty North , MO / 2020

Kamradt is a long limbed and lean 6-foot-2, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Kamradt has quick loose arm action and a high three-quarter release. Delivery is smooth and fluid, gains momentum as he works down the hill, explosive lower half. Fastball sits 83-85 mph, jumps out of Kamradt’s hand, around the zone, changeup is 75-78 mph, depth and fading action, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 69-72 mph, sharp bite at times, thrown for strikes.

Grant Littrell OF / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

Littrell is a 5-foot-8, 175-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Littrell shows a big frame, wide shoulders, balanced delivery, starts at a slower tempo and accelerates down the mound, over the top release, downhill tilt, throws two pitches for a high percentage of strikes. Fastball is 73-76 mph, strikes at the bottom of the zone, occasional arm side run, curveball is 61-65 mph, 12-to-6 shape, mostly gradual action with some occasional late bite, thrown for strikes.

Joshua Lowe OF / SS / Park Hill South, MO / 2021

Lowe is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Lowe works with a quicker tempo, high leg kick, directional towards target, regular effort, loose arm action, three-quarter release, fastball is thrown for strikes, 70-72 mph, occasional arm side run, curveball is 57-62 mph, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, near fastball arm speed, changeup is 63-68 mph.

Mitchell Magel 1B / RHP / Liberty high school, MO / 2021

Magel is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri's 2021 class.  On the mound, Magel comes from a high three quarters arm slot, rotational delivery at balance point and and finish, works in line down the mound, smooth acceleration, fastball at 76-79 mph, arm side run at times, breaking ball has gradual 12-to-6 shape to the bottom of the zone, 65-68 mph, change up at 68-72 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, slight sink.

Ayden Mertz RHP / 2B / Park Hill, MO / 2020

Mertz is a lean and athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pounds with room to fill out in his frame. Arm action is loose, free and easy with good whip like action. Delivery is repeatable with fluid and rhythmic actions. Fastball jumps out of his hand, sat 84-86 mph with arm side run at the event. Changeup is 78 mph, fading action, near fastball arm speed. Mertz throws two breaking balls, slider is 74-76 mph, chance to be a plus pitch, late bite at times, curveball is slower at 70-73 mph, late downward action, 11-to-5 shape.

Keaton O'Connor OF / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

O’Connor is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. O’Connor’s delivery is simple, some rhythm, works primarily from the windup, high leg kick, creates downhill angle, accelerates down the mound, quick arm action, over the top release. Fastball sits 74-77 mph, tops at 78 mph, some arm side run, thrown for strikes at the bottom of the zone, changeup is 70-72, curveball is 63-64 mph, 12-to-6 shape, mostly gradual action, thrown for strikes.

Kaydon Patrick LHP / Staley, MO / 2020

Patrick is a stalky and strong 5-foot-11, 185-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  Simple delivery, starts with a slower tempo and gains momentum as he works to home plate, max effort, aggressive lower half, short arm action, over the top release. Fastball sits 81-84 mph, around the strike zone, occasional arm side run, curveball is 70-71 mph, 12-to-6 shape, late downward action, slider is 72-73 mph, changeup is 75-77 mph, arm side run, near fastball arm speed.

Jackson Ramsey LHP / OF / Park Hill, MO / 2021

Ramsey is a 6-foot, 155-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Ramsey has an athletic delivery with some rhythm, high but controlled leg kick, accelerates down the mound, loose arm action, three-quarter release. Fastball is 74-77 mph, arm side run, thrown to the bottom of the strike zone, changeup is 71-72 mph, some depth, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 66-67 mph, late bite at times, 1-to-7 shape.

Alex Schmitz RHP / 3B / Park Hill South, MO / 2020

Schmitz is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound, right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, simple delivery, regular effort, works downhill, directional towards target, some rhythm to delivery, fastball at 74-76 mph, some on a downhill plane, breaking ball at 67-69 mph, 11-to-5 action, slurve-type action, change up at 71-73 mph, some with arm side run.

Colin Stanfield 1B / RHP / Liberty, MO / 2021

Stanfield is a big bodied 6-foot, 185-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Stanfield has a large frame, simple delivery, accelerates down the mound, downhill tilt with shoulders, strong glove side for added deception, over the top release. Fastball is 73-76 mph, around the strike zone, changeup is 67-69 mph, near fastball arm speed, occasional arm side run, curveball is 64-69 mph, gradual action, 12-to-6 shape.

Jacob Stevens RHP / OF / Kearney , MO / 2020

Stevens is a 6-foot-4, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Stevens has a lean build, wide shoulders and projectable frame with room for growth. Delivery has some rhythm, high leg kick, in line stride with the catcher, creates a downhill angle with his shoulders, over the top release, strong glove side for added deception, threw 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball sits 77-79, tops at 80 mph, thrown for strikes, occasional arm side changeup is 72-75 mph, some arm side run, curveball is 67-72 mph, 12-to-6 shape, gradual action.

Logan Whitley OF / RHP / Oak Park, MO / 2020

Whitely is a lean and projectable 6-foot-3, 155-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, Whitley comes from a high three quarters arm slot, smooth delivery, controlled and inline down the mound, high leg lift, fastball at 70-73 mph, curveball has 12-to-6 shape, late action, bottom of the zone, change up at 66-70, throws with near fastball arm speed, slight sinking action.

Logan Wood RHP / 3B / Staley , MO / 2021

Wood is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Wood has an easy leg lift, across the body stride, gains momentum as he travels down the mound creates downhill tilt with shoulders, clean arm action, high three-quarter release. Fastball is 79-82 mph, around the strikes zone, curveball is 60-61 mph, mostly gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, thrown for strikes.
