Top Prospect - St. Louis: Missouri Pitchers

The third annual Top Prospect Games - St. Louis, took place Tuesday, June 4th. The invite-only event brought together some of the top uncommitted 2020s from Missouri and Illinois to SIU-Edwardsville. The event consisted of a showcase in the morning and games in the afternoon with 30+ colleges in attendance.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Here is a closer look at the Missouri Pitchers from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Missouri Pitchers

Chayton Beck C / SS / Liberty , MO / 2020

Beck is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-hand pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Beck has a smooth leg lift, short arm stroke, over the top arm slot, in line direction, throws with regular effort, loose arm action, fast ball at 79-82 mph, 84 mph max, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, 70-71 mph, sharp at times, change up at 76-77 mph.

Austin Bloodworth RHP / OF / Francis Howell Central, MO / 2020

Bloodworth is a 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Bloodworth has a big frame with wide shoulders, projectable for adding strength, high leg lift with slight tuck at balance point, raises hands with leg lift, aggressive and accelerated down the mound, throws with some effort, works on downhill plane, fastball at 76 to 81 mph fastball, breaking ball has gradual 12-to-6 action, 61-63 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 71-74 mph, slight sink.

Zach Dillman C / RHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2020

Dillman is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Dillman has a quick tempo in his delivery, quick leg drive in line, over the top arm slot, throws with some effort, fastball worked 83-85 mph, touching 87 mph, breaking ball at 70-71, 11-to-5 action with occasional sharpness.

Ryan Fortune RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2020

Fortune is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Fortune comes from a high three quarters arm slot, quick arm speed, body stays under control, throws with regular effort and smooth effort, fastball works 76-79 mph, slight running action, breaking ball was 62 mph, gradual 12-to-6 action, change up has arm side run, 67-70 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed.

Joe Hackmann RHP / 3B / Washington, MO / 2020

Hackman is a well built 6-foot-2 225-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, releases from a high three quarters arm slot, has a drop and drive-type delivery, controlled tempo, repeats delivery, fastball at 79-80 mph, breaking ball has slight 11-to-5 action, 67 mph, change up at 65-69 mph, slight sink.

Blake Leadford LHP / OF / CBC, MO / 2020

Leadford is a 6-foot 152-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Leadford has a loose arm action with quick arm speed, throws with some effort and accelerated tempo, repeats a simple delivery, body stays under control, lands in line and finishes in fielding postion, fastball has late life with slight running action, 81-84 mph, breaking ball showed sharpness and command, 70-71 mph, good feel for change up at 67-68 mph.

Eric Loomis RHP / OF / CBC, MO / 2020

Loomis is a tall and lean 6-foot-1 179-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Loomis has controlled tempo in his delivery, loose arm action, in line and aggressive down the mound, throws with some effort, more in tank with projection of build and arm action, over the top arm slot, fastball at 85-87 mph, works both sides of plate, late running action, breaking ball at 69-74 mph, slurve-type action, has command, change up at 82 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed.

Brennan Orf 3B / RHP / Westminster , MO / 2020

Orf is a well built 6-foot-4 215-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Orf, has an over the top arm slot, throws with regular effort, controlled tempo with good direction, repeats release, had a two pitch mix during the game, command of fastball at 83-85 mph, touching 87 mph, breaking ball at 70-73 mph, gradual 12-to-6 action.

Ryan Palumbo RHP / 3B / Rockwood Summit, MO / 2020

Palumbo is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class, committed to John A. Logan. Palumbo has a lean frame capable of adding strength as he continues to develop, slight rotation at balance point during delivery, in line stride, high three quarters arm slot, throws with regular effort, fastball has arm side run, late at times, 85-88 mph, breaking ball has mostly 12-to-6 action at 70-73 mph, occasionally sharp, throws change up with sink at 77-83 mph.

Brennan Perkins OF / RHP / Rockhurst , MO / 2020

Perkins is a 5-foot-11 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Perkins comes from an over the top arm slot, smooth delivery, repeatable, loose arm action, fastball at 77-80 mph, showed command, breaking ball with 68-69 mph, late and sharp break, change up at 74 mph with arm side run.

Charlie Stergos RHP / SS / Fort Zumwalt East, MO / 2020

Stergos is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Stergos keeps his hands high throughout his delivery with high leg lift, controlled body, over the top arm slot, fastball at 72-75 mph, works to both sides of the plate, 12-to-6 curveball, 56-59 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 66-67 mph, slight sinking action.

Drew Sutton 3B / RHP / Holt , MO / 2020

Sutton is a 5-foot-10 169-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Sutton has an aggressive drop and drive-type delivery, athletic build with clean arm action, over the top release, throws with some effort, fastball worked 77-78 mph, slight down hill plane, breaking ball has sharp 11-to-5 shape, 64-67 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, controllable at 68-72 mph, slight arm side run.
