Prep Baseball Report - Illinois/Missouri held the Unsigned Senior Showcase in St. Charles, Missouri on October 1.  Nearly 45 players in the 2018 class from both states participated.

Players profiles have been updated with profile pictures, stats and video from the event.  In the days to come we will break down the event position-by-position, taking a look at the infielders today.  The infielders listed below are in alphabetical order and divided into Corner and Middle Infielders.

Corner Infielders

Jack Adler SS / RHP / Principia, MO / 2018

Adler is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.25 laser timed 60 and has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and balanced stance, short in line stride, no wasted movement in load, quick bat speed, level bat plane, flashed pull side power, mostly middle to pull side contact.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, field ball in athletic position, clean transfer and throw, mostly accurate, gains ground to first base after catch.

Cam Been 2B / 3B / Rockwood Summit, MO / 2018

6-foot, 178-pound, athletically-built, right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, balanced setup, hands load back and drop slightly, leg kick timing trigger, uphill barrel path, early rhythm, 83 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.61 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, over-the-top arm slot, fluid footwork, 75 mph across the infield.

Christopher Connolly OF / SS / Francis Howell North, MO / 2018

Connolly is a 6-foot-2 137-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.49 laser timed 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, thin base and slightly open stance, quick in line stride, controlled leg lift, level path through he zone, gap to gap approach. On the infield, 64 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick to the ball, maintains body control.

 

Joseph Costanzo SS / 2B / Rockhurst, MO / 2018

Joseph Constanzo, SS, Rockhurst HS (MO), 2018
Costanzo is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.08 laser timed 60 and has an exit velocity of 78 mph. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth load, controlled leg lift, in line stride, loose hands level path through he zone to extension, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, 77 mph exit velo, quick catch and throw, short high three quarters release, fluid footwork in sync with transfer, accurate throws.

Tate Davison OF / SS / Benet, IL / 2018

5-foot-11, 150-pound, lanky, right-handed hitting shortstop and outfielder. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate on some throws, 81 mph from the outfield, 72 mph across the infield. Maintains body control, quick and clean on exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, long stride, uphill barrel path, flashed loose hands, gap-to-gap hitter, 69 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 7.69 laser-timed 60.

Austin Holt 2B / 3B / Galena , MO / 2018

Holt is a 5-foot-11 185-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.46 laser timed 60 and has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth load against back side with no wasted movement, at time short to the ball, occasional pull side power, quick and aggressive bat speed, loose hands.  On the infield, 73 mph positional velocity, footwork creates momentum to throw, works behind the ball, over the top release, mostly accurate thrower, fields ball in athletic position.

Adam Rakowiecki SS / OF / St Mary's , MO / 2018

Rakowiecki is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  Her an a 7.60 laser timed 60 and has an 85 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts slightly loaded in back leg, smooth and controlled load with no wasted movement in hands, short stride, loose hands, repeats, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, 79 mph positional velo, quick feet with momentum after the catch, aggressive to the ball, clean transfer, high three quarters release, mostly accurate throws, soft hands

 

Cade Teat SS / 2B / Excelsior Springs, MO / 2018

Teat is a 6-foot-1 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.70 laser timed 60 and has a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, in line stride, smooth rhythm and accelerated tempo, quick hands, level path, mostly pull side contact during batting practice. On the infield, smooth and quick actions, quick catch and throw, loose over the top release, ball has back spin carry, mostly accurate.

Kyle Weber SS / 2B / Marshall, MO / 2018

Weber is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.46 laser timed 60 and has an exit velocity of 99 mph. At the plate, thin stance, controlled stride, minimal load, quick and strong hands, occasional pull side power, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, high three quarters release, fluid action, hands and feet on time, soft hands with clean exchange, plays through the ball, mostly accurate throws, 74 mph positional velo. 

 

Corner Infielders

Nolan Dempsay 1B / 3B / Kirksville , MO / 2018

Dempsey is a 6-foot-5 235-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.78 60 and has a 94 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, no wasted movement in load, gap to gap line drives, pull gap power, simple and repeatable, hard consistent contact during batting practice.  On the infield, 77 mph positional velo, athletic and quick to the ball, quick catch and throw, high three quarters release, mostly accurate throws.

 

Ethan Fletchall C / 3B / Liberty North , MO / 2018

Fletchall is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.84 laser timed 60 and has an 85 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance, reverse in line to touch, short stride with minimal hand movement, slight lift in bat path, strong lower half, gap to gap line drives. On the infield, 78 mph positional velocity, short over the top release, fluid footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws.

Andrew Fox 1B / Rockhurst , MO / 2018

ox is a strong 6-foot-4 224-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.73 laser timed 60 and has a 97 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth load to back side, reverse to tap, fast bat speed, aggressive, pull gap power, gap-to-gap line drives.  On the infield, 74 mph positional velo, short over the top release, hands and feet in sync, mostly accurate throws, soft hands, quick to the ball with fluid transfer.

 

Cole Hampton 3B / OF / Edwardsville, IL / 2018

Currently ranked No. 123 in Illinois’ Class of 2018. 6-foot-2, 180-pound, lanky, athletic, broad shouldered, right-handed hitting third baseman and outfielder. Defensively, from the outfield, short arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate with carry, 89 mph. In the infield, short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate with carry, 87 mph. Plays through the ball, fluid footwork, quick, clean on exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, back load, leg kick timing trigger, maintains balance through swing, uphill barrel path, pull approach, 87 mph exit velocity.

Will Heller 3B / SS / Blue Springs South, MO / 2018

Heller is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.16 laser timed 60 and a has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth load, quiet hands, short in line stride with controlled leg lift, quick bat speed, loose hands, pull side power, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, 85 mph positional velo, loose over the top release, fluid footwork to the ball, creates momentum to throw, clean transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Tevin Lee 1B / Du Quoin, IL / 2018

5-foot-11, 190-pound, strong, physically developed, left-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, uses lower half well, present bat speed, power pull hitter, 87 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.89 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, ¾ arm slot, accurate on some throws, 70 mph from the outfield, 66 across the infield.

Kayden Lewis OF / 1B / Hickman, MO / 2018

Lewis is a 6-foot- 185-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.53 laser timed 60 and has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, thin stance, minimal load, short in line stride, some lift to bat path, quick hands, mostly pull side contact, flashing pull power.  On the infield, 68 mph positional velo, throws from a low three quarters slot, soft hands, clean transfers, quick catch and throw.

Stephen Randazzo 3B / OF / De Smet Jesuit, MO / 2018

Randazzo is a physical 6-foot-1 193-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.61 laser timed 60 and has a 92 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, slight weight shit into back side, quick toe touch, short in line stride, body stays under control during swing, level path, hard consistent contact during batting practice, mostly pull and middle of the field line drives. On the infield, 81 mph positional velo, over the top release, fluid actions to the ball, plays through the catch, momentum to throw after the catch, throws have carry and are mostly accurate. 

Jackson Van Iwaarden 1B / RHP / Lafayette, MO / 2018

Van Iwaarden is a 6-foot-1 210-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 8.01 laser timed 60 and has an exit velocity of 91 mph. At the plate, starts in a thin base and slightly open, in line stride with minimal load, aggressive to the ball, quick and level path, pull side power, mostly hard middle to pull side contact during batting practice. On the infield, 78 mph positional velo, soft hands, fields ball out front, smooth transfer on time with feet, mostly accurate throws.

Alex Welborn 1B / LHP / Vianney, MO / 2018

Welborn is a 5-foot-9 200-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 8.14 laser timed 60 and has an 88 mph exit velocity. On the infield, smooth pre swing rhythm, quick leg kick, short stride, gap to gap line drives, body stays under control during swing.  On the infield, 71 mph positional velocity, over the top release, mostly accurate throws, aggressive to the ball, fields ball in position ready to throw, soft hands with quick transfer.

Alex Schreiber 3B / SS / Hillsboro, IL / 2018

6-foot-1, 175-pound, lanky, right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, balanced setup, slight bar on load, maintains some balance through swing, level barrel path, flashed loose hands, line drive approach, made consistent square contact, 86 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.22 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate on throws, maintains body control, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, 72 mph across the infield.
