All-State Games Player Spotlight: OF Trip Wilson

The premier event on the Prep Baseball Report Mississippi annual schedule is set for this Sunday, as 30+ of the state's top prospects are registered for the exclusive annual event.

The Prep Baseball Report All-State Games will be held at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, MS  this upcoming Sunday, November 11, 2018. The invite only event is the premier annual event on the Prep Baseball Report Mississippi schedule, featuring the top prospects from across the state of Mississippi, with several college coaches historically attending the event.

In the coming days our scouting staff will begin to preview the event, highlighting players on the current roster.

Today we take a look at one of the top outfielders in Mississippi’s 2020 class, Trip Wilson (Tupelo HS, MS).

Scouting Report

11/12/17 A lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame with room for continued growth and added strength. At the plate, the right-handed hitter works from a tall, stacked setup and toe tap load. Displayed a line-drive/ground ball type approach with a compact swing that produced an exit velocity of 85 mph. Defensively work through ball aggressively with active footwork and soft hands. Medium, quick arm stroke into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash.
