The MS All-State Games took place on Sunday, November 18th at Braddy Field home of the Jackson State University Tigers. The invite only event featured 30 prospects – from across the state of Mississippi - complete the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice, followed by live game action in the afternoon. Here's a look at the numbers from Sunday's event.

 TOP 60 YARD DASH

There were three sub-7.00-second laser-timed 60-yard dash times recorded on Sunday. Javondus McGruder (Ridgeland, 2019) clocked the quickest 60 of the event, posting a time of 6.58-seconds. Lanacus Hudson (Raymond, 2019), and Brady Johnson (St. Joseph Catholic, 219) followed suit, separated by slim margins.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY

There were seven pitchers that ran their fastballs up to 81 mph or better on Sunday. Pearl River recruits, Leif Moore (St. Martin, 2020) and Eric Newsom (Germantown, 2019) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 89 mph and 88 mph repectively on Sunday. Cole Tolbert (West Jones, 2021) ran his fastball up to 88 mph as well.

There were five prospects who posted 90+ mph exit velos at Sunday’s event. Jones County JC recruit Hunter Richardson (Enterprise, 2019) registered 98 mph to lead the pack. Eric Newsome (Germantown, 2019) registered 96 mph, while Sam Suggs (Magnolia Heights, 2019) and Wesley Sides ( DeSoto Central, 2020) registered 93 mph.

Eight players threw 80+ mph across the diamond during yesterday’s infield portion of the workout. Leif Moore (St. Martin, 2019) and Mac Sims (DeSoto Central, 2020) showed off their arm strength on Sunday, posting an event best 85 mph positional velocity. While Cole Tolbert (West Jones, 2021) registered 84 mph across the diamond.
