Today, Prep Baseball Report Mississippi takes a look at three uncommitted 2018’s to watch going into the fall. Throughout the summer Prep Baseball Report has been on the road scouting select ball tournaments, college showcases, in addition to its own summer events.

While there has been several top prospect in the 2018 class to commit, there are still some impressive players who will make an impact on the next level. These uncommitted seniors have showcased their talents over the course of the summer, on a national and state level, showing their ability to be quality players on the next level.

Let’s dive into the three uncommitted 2018’s to watch going into the fall season:   

Patrick Nelms, RHP/SS, Gulfport, 2018
Currently ranked No. 62 in Mississippi 2018 class. Athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame. Right-handed pitcher throwing from a high-3/4 slot with medium arm circle and fairly quick arm stroke. Lands in-line, fairly athletic lower half finish, and some upper body recoils. Attacks the zone with a straight fastball sitting mostly 81-84 mph, touching 85 mph and occasional arm side run. Has shown feel for breaking ball with 11/5 shape and solid depth.

Ty Hill, OF, Saltillo, 2018
Currently ranked No. 65 in Mississippi 2018 class. Strong 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame. Right-handed hitter with hands high and barrel behind head. Wide base, working backwards in load with small leg lift, consistently landing on front side. Aggressive swing with proportional strength at contact and some swing and miss. Defensively took aggressive routes to ball. 

Khristian Washington, 3B, Madison Central, 2018
Currently ranked No. 69 in Mississippi 2018 class. A thick 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame with potential for added strength. Washington has tall setup with rhythm in hands, short and quite leg lift landing balanced and on time. Displayed short and direct path, on a level plane with solid bat speed and strength in swing.
