Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 6 (March 20th - March 25th)

Hudson Mattox 3B / RHP / Kirk Academy, MS / 2023 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 315 / POS: 17 The 2023 PBR Super 60 participant went off this week picking up 9 hits in 9 at bats with 3 doubles and a homer to earn the PBR Mississippi Player of the Week. Mattox, an Ole Miss signee, was one of the few players that pitched and hit at the Super 60 in February. For good measure, he threw 3 innings on the mound last week as well, allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, with 9 strikeouts!

Hank Eaton RHP / SS / Kossuth, MS / 2024 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 215 / POS: 64 The Auburn commit continued his solid junior season picking up a no hitter last week with a 7 inning gem to earn the PBR Mississippi Pitcher of the Week. The dual threat righty is 2-2 with a 1.43 ERA with 40 strikeouts in just 24 innings on the bump this year for the Aggies. Eaton is also hitting .414 with 3 home runs and 13 runs batted in.
