The fall season in officially underway with many players participating in local fall leagues. On Monday, the Prep Baseball Report staff was on hand to cover the Southwest CC fall league in Summit, MS. The league plays host to several players from the local area. Here are some quick notes on several players from Mondays actions.
Brandon Chapman, RHP, Parklane, 2020
Projectable, long-limbed frame at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, with room for added strength. The right-hander works from high-¾ slot with a short arm stroke. Developing rhythm, working downhill with in-line direction while finishing athletically. Struggled to repeat delivery, with occasional big miss, fastball sat 76-79 mph, touching 80 mph with mostly straight action.
Adam Leonard, 1B/3B, North Pike, 2019
Athletic 5-foot-10, 175 pound frame. The right-handed hitter works from a tall, balanced setup. Subtle toe tap load with loose rhythm in hands. Level to slight uphill path, with line drive approach recorded multiple hits on the night, found barrel consistently making hard contact.
Cade Killingsworth, SS/RHP, North Pike, 2018
Jones County JC recruit. Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Infielder showed soft hands and fluid footwork and solid arm strength. Made several defensive plays moving laterally with easy effort. Right-handed hitter hitting from tall, open, athletic setup with high hands. Works closed with short stride and solid balance. Length in swing with slight up-hill path through finish.
