Before the action gets underway on Tuesday, let's take a look at some of the 2019 prospects that will be in attendance.
This year’s event will feature some of the top ranked prospects in Mississippi’s 2019 class including RHP Farmer Abendroth who is returning to Warren Central HS after spending last year at IMG in Florida. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound right-hander works with a low 90’s fastball with angle and occasional arm-side life. RHP Mitch Murell (Ocean Springs), a recent Mississippi commit, is currently ranked No. 25 in Mississippi's 2019 class. The physically framed right-handed pitcher has flashed a heavy fastball with cutting action through the zone working with a upper 80’s fastball.
Two members of Mississippi's 2017 PBR Future Games squad will also be in attendance, uncommitted 2019 RHP Landon Rascoe (Hattiesburg HS, MS) and C/1B Colin Frederickson (St. Stanislaus HS, MS). Rascoe has shown plenty of upside in the past with fastball touching 92 mph. The left-handed hitting, Frederickson uses a simple, compact stroke, showing strength at contact, bat speed and consistently puts the barrel on the baseball.
The event will also feature several top 2019 prospects that have recently made their pledge to junior colleges across the state. SS Bryson Ware (Germantown HS, MS), Catcher Graham Crawford (Sumrall HS, MS), RHP Austin Dean (Pearl River Central HS, MS), and RHP Landon Gartman (Enterprise HS, MS) all Pearl River CC commits, and also Meridian commit, RHP/OF Landon Rawson (Central Holmes Christian).
