Updated 2025 Mississippi Player Rankings

The summer of 2022 is coming to an end, which means it's time to revisit the player rankings for all three classes, and next in line is the Class of 2025. We've been able to get a true & honest look at most of these prospects this summer, whether it be at tournaments at LakePoint Sports, a showcase setting or at a high school game this past spring. This class is already littered with tons of verbal commitments to Power 5 schools inside the Top-50 and numerous prospects that made a splash onto the scene this spring and summer.

It's going to be fun to see where all of these players end up, as many of them still have plenty of maturing to come heading into their junior seasons of their high school campaigns. Let's take a look at how this class stacks up after the summer of 2022.

 

The Top-5

+ Jacob Parker (Purvis)

Securing the top spot at No.1, a physical presence on the field, the 6-3 Parker still should add to his already impressive power at the plate with exit velocities into the high 90’s. Using a pull side approach and loft to his swing the Mississippi State commit finds the other side of the wall with some consistency. Parker also has decent speed running sub 7 60’s and strong accurate arm from the outfield with velocities into the upper 80’s. Along with his twin brother Joseph the Tornadoes look to improve on last year's solid season.

 

 + Landon Harmon (East Union)

Making a jump in the rankings and moving up to No. 2, the tall 6-foot-4, lean righty from East Union had a big time summer impressing recruiters with each outing and ultimately committing to Mississippi State recently. Using a fastball that works regularly in the mid to upper 80’s, Harmon reached the 90 mph mark during his appearance at the Future Games. He has solid, yet still developing secondary stuff, relying mostly on a hard biting slider and changeup. Harmon will be a big factor in the Urchins quest for a back to back state championship.

 

 + Joseph Parker (Purvis)

Coming in at No. 3, silky smooth defender Joseph Parker of Purvis is fun to watch at the shortstop position with solid hands, excellent lateral range, and fluid movements. Parker, a Mississippi State commit, has started to show his power potential as well with 5 home runs during his freshman campaign. A left-handed hitter like his twin brother, though Joseph uses more of the field with a line drive approach and will lay a bunt down if needed.

 

+ Banks Teater (Magee)

Sliding into the No. 4 spot, the former Future Gamer is one of the premiere catchers in the state, Teater also displays big time upside at the plate from the left-side. The uncommitted receiver from Magee has an athletic frame with room for added strength which will result in his line drives moving deeper into the gaps and eventually developing into a solid power threat at the next level. Behind the plate, Teater uses solid footwork and a strong accurate arm resulting in consistent 2.0 pop times.

 

 + Cooper Waddle (Itawamba)

Rounding it out in the Top-5 in this recent update, Waddle emerged on the scene at last year's Junior Future Games flashing a 87 mph fastball that caught the attention of recruiters immediately. The uncommitted left handed pitcher from Itawamba has continued his development with his fastball topping out at 91 mph and has now added a solid curveball to his arsenal that gets plenty of depth and keeps hitters off balance. With a solid core of young players, look for the Indians, led by Waddle to begin to make their way this upcoming season.
