Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 7

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Andrew Williams SS / RHP / Alcorn Central , MS / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 132 / POS: 24

Williams has bee very productive for the Bears this year and last week he kept it up by going 4 for 6 including 3 home runs, a double, 8 runs scored, while driving in another 9 runners. On the season the Itawamba CC recruit is hitting .348 with 16 RBI's.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Ty Long SS / RHP / Ripley, MS / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 1

Long turned in an excellent start with a 3-2 win over Itawamba AHS. The Southern Miss recruit threw 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits, no earned runs, with 16 strikeouts!
