POPLARVILLE, MS — The South Mississippi Fall ID & Freshman Free Showcase was held on Saturday, September 5, at Pearl River CC, featuring prospects from the 2027-2031 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout utilizing TrackMan and VALD Performance technology, while pitchers threw bullpen sessions with TrackMan collecting data and metrics.

Reese Parker SS / 3B / Stone, MS / 2029

RHP/INF Reese Parker (2029) Stone HS - The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Parker continues to establish himself as one of the premier players in Mississippi’s 2029 class and currently sits at our #1 ranked player in the state. A left-handed hitter with advanced feel for the barrel, Parker has already produced at a high level against varsity competition. Athletic actions and solid footwork give him the ability to remain on the dirt, while his offensive profile continues to stand out with consistent hard contact, developing power, and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Parker also offers legitimate two-way upside on the mound, recently working 84–85 mph with the fastball, 77–79 mph changeup, and 72–74 mph with his plus slider. The combination of advanced production, athleticism, versatility, and continued physical upside makes Parker a must-follow name in Mississippi’s 2029 class with a very high ceiling.

Chyles Crawford OF / RHP / Lewisburg High School, MS / 2028

OF/RHP Chyles Crawford (2028) Lewisburg HS.  Crawford is a physical 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete with legitimate versatility and an interesting two-way profile. He’s listed as a switch-hitter/right-handed thrower and has experience all over the diamond, though the outfield and catcher appear to be his primary position-player homes. The physical development has been substantial, and the arm strength has taken a major jump, with his fastball reaching 86 mph (although he did not pitch this past weekend). There’s athleticism and strength in the profile with plenty of room for the offensive tools to continue developing, while the arm gives him another avenue on the mound. A physical, versatile 2028 with a rapidly improving arm and multiple ways to impact a roster and definitely a name to follow closely this spring at Lewisburg.

Aaron Hoerman 3B / RHP / Germantown, MS / 2029

3B/RHP Aaron Hoerman (2029) Germantown HS. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Hoerman is a young physical, athletic two-way prospect who should began to make noticeable strides in his overall game. A right-handed hitter, Hoerman showed impressive offensive strength at our recent South Mississippi Fall ID, producing an exit velocity up to 100 mph, while also turning in a 6.75 60-yard dash, an excellent combination of physicality and athleticism for his age. On the mound, the right-hander worked 80–82 mph with the fastball, complemented by a 71–74 mph changeup and 61–63 mph curveball, giving him a developing three-pitch mix. He profiles primarily at third base and also sees time on the mound, with his frame, strength and athletic ability giving him considerable room for continued development. The combination of a 100 mph exit velocity, 6.75 speed and a projectable 6-foot-2 frame makes Hoerman a definite follow in Mississippi’s 2029 class, with plenty of upside remaining as the arm strength and overall game continue to mature.

Kaynon Cuevas OF / 3B / Hancock High School, MS / 2029

OF Kaynon Cuevas (2029) Hancock HS. Cuevas is a left-handed hitter with a solid combination of strength and developing athleticism. The 2029 graduate produced exit velocities up to 98 mph from the left side, showing plenty of present impact with more offensive upside still to come. He turned in a 7.18 60-yard dash, a number that should continue to improve as he matures physically, while also showing 81 mph arm strength from the outfield. The left-handed bat and present power stand out at this stage, and continued gains in speed and overall athleticism could elevate the profile even further. A must-follow 2029 for recruiters moving forward. 

Harrison Havard C / RHP / George County, MS / 2027

C Harrison Havard (2027) George County HS.  Havard turned in a solid showing at the South Mississippi Fall ID, continuing to show value behind the plate. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound backstop produced exit velocities around the upper 80s, topping at 88 mph, during his BP round while showing a solid offensive foundation and a middle of the field line drive approach. Defensively, Havard’s catching ability stood out, recording pop times as low as 1.93 with catcher velocity around 70 mph, showing solid actions and the ability to control the running game. Still uncommitted, Havard is a 2027 catcher that college recruiters may want to get out and see this spring as he looks to take another step in his development.

Bo Tatum 1B / OF / Presbyterian Christian, MS / 2030

OF Bo Tatum (2030) Presbyterian Christian School.  The 5-foot-10, 150-pound Tatum is a young left-handed hitter with plenty of physical development still ahead. The swing already looks good from the left side, showing loose, fluid actions with a solid feel for the barrel and exit velocities up to 86 mph. The present offensive foundation stands out, especially considering his age, with additional impact expected as he continues to add strength and physicality to the frame. Tatum profiles in the outfield and has plenty of time for the overall toolset to continue taking shape. A must-watch 2030 with a left-handed bat worth following closely over the next several years.

Dante Stutts OF / 3B / Christian Brothers, MS / 2030

OF Dante Stutts (2030) Christian Brothers HS. The 5-foot-8, 200-pound Stutz continues to make noticeable strides in his development. The right-handed hitter showed developing pop with exit velocities up to 94 mph, displaying impressive present strength for a player still very early in his high school career. The work since our previous look is evident, particularly in his improved 60 time and overall athleticism, adding another dimension to his profile. There is still plenty of development ahead, but the progress is encouraging and the offensive strength already stands out. A very young 2030 we’ll continue monitoring closely as his game and athleticism progress.

Drake McDay 1B / Oak Grove, MS / 2030

1B Drake McDay (2030) Oak Grove HS. McDay is a young 6-1, 245 pound right-handed hitter with big power potential already beginning to show. He produced exit velocities up to 98 mph with multiple balls in the mid-90s, consistently finding the barrel and showing the ability to generate impact contact. There is still plenty of physical maturation ahead for the 2030 graduate, which makes the present offensive numbers even more encouraging. As McDay continues to get faster, stronger, and more athletic, the offensive profile has a chance to take a significant jump. The ingredients are there for him to eventually develop into a major offensive threat, but there is plenty of development still to come. A young power bat we’ll be watching closely over the next several years.
