2022 Future Games: Team Carolina Positional Breakdown - Catchers

The 2022 Future Games took place on July 27-30 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. The event features the top uncommitted 2024 and 2025 prospects from across the country and was attended by more than 350 colleges from across all parts of the country.
Below we take a look at the position players from a very talented Team Carolina club that had a ton of eyes on it throughout the event and went on to win its pool.

A 5-11, 165-pound with a wiry, athletic physique and plenty of space to grow. A balanced, rhythmic, athletic stance. has a quick bat and a nice swing. Solid line drive gap to gap approach without overextending. Shows excellent catch and throw abilities from behind the plate when playing defense. High-level receiver with soft hands, quick transfers, agile feet, and accurate arm strength. 1.94-2.01 on throws to second on workout day.

CJ OXENDINEC / SS / NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC / 2025Lean athletic physique with plenty of growth at 6-3 175 pounds. The potential for this young talent is really strong. The setup in the batter's box is balanced and upright, and the leg lift is controlled and fluid to a solid balance hitting stance. Demonstrates good bat extension and good bat speed through the ball. With advanced movement behind the plate, this gifted catcher demonstrates his high degree of catching abilities. Excellent arm strength and very athletic footwork with quick, clean exchanges. 1.95-2.0 on throws to second on workout day

At 160-pound, 5-foot-11 frame with space to grow in the upcoming years. Squared balls up through the center and to his pull side in BP while sitting back at the plate. Maximum exit speed is 88 mph. Has a solid foundation and maintains balance throughout the swing. The hands are quick, and there is some lift on the barrel path.
