Brandon Hall
Executive Director, PBR of NC

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

PBR's staff sifts through the information sent in and seen by our scouts to determine the PBR Player of the Week every Tuesday.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week, published every Wednesday during the season.

The PBR Player of the Week for March 9 - 15, 2020 is Coby Ingle.  Ingle is a Senior RHP at Rockingham County HS.  Committed to North Carolina State, the right-hander had a week to remember firing a Perfect Game in a 2-0 win over McMichael HS.  The game featured two of the top draft follows in North Carolina in the 2020 class and Ingle was simply dominant.  Over the course of the 7 inning outing, Ingle fired 69 pitches, 56 for strikes and jumped ahead of, with strike one, 20 of the 21 hitters faced.  Ingle did not see any base runners, striking out 12 in the win.

Rockingham County went 3-0 on the week, including another no-hitter in the game after Ingle’s gem.  Ingle contributed 3 hits with a double and triple in that game.  For his efforts in the Perfect Game, and throughout the big week for the Cougars, Coby Ingle is the PBR North Carolina Player of the Week.
