Liam Norris: PBR Player of the Week - April 29 - May 5

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

PBR's staff sifts through the information sent in and seen by our scouts to determine the PBR Player of the Week every Tuesday.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week, published every Wednesday during the season.

The PBR Player of the Week for April 29 – May 5 is Green Hope HS Junior LHP Liam Norris.  Norris, the No. 1 ranked player in North Carolina’s 2020 class is a UNC commit and had a huge day on the bump this past week.  The lefty fired a complete game in a win over Leesville Rd HS, striking out 15.  Norris threw 71% of his pitches for strikes, working ahead of 16 of the 25 hitters faced.  Norris struck out two Pride hitters in every inning, striking out the side in the first inning.  Offensively, Norris was productive at the plate hitting .400 for the week with a double and an RBI.

For his work on the bump, leading Green Hope to a road win at Leesville, Liam Norris is the PBR Player of the Week for April 29 – May 5.
