Prep Baseball Report

NC - Most Viewed Profiles: July 2018

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

One of the unique opportunities Prep Baseball Report affords players from across the country is the ability to house and update their stats and video in a "one-stop shop" for college coaches, pro scouts, and fans of high school baseball.  Every player can create a free PBR Profile, or search to see if they already have one on the site.  When a member of PBR's scouting staff sees a player in action he is able to update any statistical information (arm velocity, exit velocity, running speed, pop times, ect.,).

Each month our staff likes to look back at some of the top viewed profiles from the previous month.  It gives some insight on how players can continue to #BeSeen as they are working through their recruiting process.  It also gives us some insight on some of the news information that fans in North Carolina may want included on the site.

July 2018 - Top Viewed Profiles in NC

Owen White RHP / SS / Jesse C Carson , NC / 2018

Owen was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 2nd round of the 2018 MLB Draft.  The righty was ranked in NC's top for all of 2017 and 2018 and had been committed to South Carolina.  White did sign with the Rangers.

The fastball has been up to 94 and there is projection left in the frame.  In March, North Carolina Director of Scouting was able to put a full report on White, including present and future grades on four pitches, and a projection of his potential in the Rangers system.

Jordyn Adams OF / Green Hope , NC / 2018

Potentially the best athlete in the draft, along with University of Oklahoma QB and outfielder, Kyler Murray, Adams was selected in the 1st round with pick number 18, by the Los Angeles Angels.  While still raw, there is a ton of upside to a player who absolutely took over the prestigous NHSI Tournament run by USA Baseball, in Cary, in March.

By signing, Adams is forgoing his commitment to play baseball and football at UNC.  If the hit tool continues to progress, he could make a big splash at the highest level in years to come.
