03.07.16 Lanky, athletic build in the 6-foot-4, 180 pound frame. Ultra-quick arm that works with aggression. Simple delivery, tall at balance, direct line toward the plate, with level shoulders. Featured two fastballs, with the 4-seam getting a majority of the work, sitting 88-91, ramping up to 92 throughout the first couple of innings. In the 4th, began to stick a 2-seam in to RHH, ranging 86-89 with hard, boring action to the arm side, getting bad swings and takes. Seems to work to add and subtract on the fastball. Command is more consistent when hand speed remains the same pitch to pitch. The slider is the put away pitch, working with a late, hard tilt, exploding through the zone, at 76-80. Occasionally, around the pitch, leaving it arm side, but flashed several that are wipe-out level pitches. Fastball command worked best to halves, flashing an ability to elevate when needed. Control over command at this time. Slider works to the zone, not to the glove, but it is still maturing early in the year. Change-up looks to be solid, again working in the zone, but not necessarily to the glove. Some arm-side action to the change, ranging 73-76. Short to the plate with runners on, fastball velocity dipped to 86-88 on the 4-seam. Good athlete moving around the mound with athleticism.
10.10.16 Premier athleticism on the mound. Strike thrower who pounds the zone with a fastball that ranges from 89-93 thrown to both sides of the plate. Rocker step initiates a wind up that he easily repeats and explodes towards the plate. Arm works extremely quick with short stroke giving way to a ¾ slot. Slider is a true swing and miss pitch with late, sharp break thrown at 75-78. Features a developing changeup (74-75) that he gets under at times causing it to fly high to his arm side.
06.20.18 White is a premium arm in the 2018 class. He sat 86-88, touching 89 multiple times from a high-3/4 slot. His curveball sat at 76 with depth and late action and is thrown with the same arm speed and slot. At 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, there is plenty of room for added strength. He has some effort, but is able to repeat his delivery.
