NC 2021 Most Viewed Player Profiles: #13 Sam Cozart

Matt Payne
Director of Scouting, PBR of NC

With 2021 coming to a close we begin to take a look at the most viewed player profiles in North Carolina over the last year. PBR continues to be a go-to source of information for college coaches and pro-scouts. All Major League Organizations and over 800 colleges are subscribed to PBR services. Coaches and scouts can go to a players profile page and see player video as well as advanced analytics. With all the information provided it allows coaches and scouts to get an idea of who the player is as well as track their progress throughout their careers.

PBR of North Carolina will see profile hits go over 12 million in 2021 with an average of over 1 million hits per month. Some of the most popular ways to a player profile page are event pages, tournament pages, player search, news articles and rankings. Over the next few weeks we will highlight the 15 most viewed profiles of 2021 in North Carolina.

MOST VIEWED PLAYER PROFILES IN NC

No. 13: Sam Cozart

The Mississippi State recruit has the 13th most viewed profile in North Carolina during 2021. The physical right-hander comes from a baseball family and is a name that has been known for quite some time in the state and across the country even though he is only a freshman.

Cozart features a fastball that has been into the low 90’s, a sharp breaking ball that creates plenty of swing and miss, and also shows advanced feel for a changeup for his age. He has poise on the mound with the ability to move his pitches around the zone. Cozart currently ranks at the No. 1 righthander in the 2025 PBR Overall Rankings and looks primed for success in the future.

Scouting Report

Checking in at No. 4 overall, RHP Sam Cozart (Wesleyan Christian Academy, NC), a Mississippi State recruit, has shown the ability to dominate older competition thanks to a full arsenal of power stuff that includes a low-90s fastball. The imposing 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is more than just the “stuff” as he also exhibits advanced pitchability, and already looks the part of a starter at the next level.
