NC PBR ProCase Roster Spotlight: RHP
February 9, 2019
Sunday February 10th will feature the 2nd annual PBR ProCase in North Carolina at the Diamond Xtreme facility in Kernersville, NC. The invite only event will feature approximately 30 players from North Carolina going through a pro-style workout in front of MLB scouts and professional evaluators.
As we prepare for the ProCase we are going to feature the players that will be in attendance. 15 arms are scheduled to throw in the ProCase with many of them ranked inside the Top 30 in NC's 2019 rankings. As witnessed last year, a good preseason showing can drive early season interest as professional evaluators are working to set their spring schedules.
NC PBR ProCase Roster Spotlight: Right Handed Pitchers
Scouting Report
Probably the biggest "winner" from the 2018 PBR Top Prospect Games where there was a significant jump in velocity and stuff. The frame suggest more may come. Below is look at the eval and video from August.
08.07.18
Charlotte commit, making his declaration shortly after the Top Prospect Games. Lanky, athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. Some strength present with plenty of room to continue to add to the frame. Fastball bumped 91 in his first inning, sitting 86-89 throughout the outing. Hard, riding action on the fastball, it jumped on hitters getting swing and miss in the zone and chase when elevated out of the zone. Smooth delivery with an average leg kick. Repeatable with a stable head and solid balance point. Aggressive stride with the arm on time and working to positions of strength. Excellent hip to shoulder separation. Long arm action gets to a high-3/4 slot with a very quick hand. On-line, finishes with good extension. Breaking ball had gradual 12/6 tilt at 72, with a slight hump out of the window. Change-up touched 80.
Scouting Report
The only NC player at the 2019 Super 60 with 60 of the top professional prospects from across the country. He was up to 90 with a hard slider. His video from Chicago, last week is below.
Scouting Report
Reopened his recruiting process just prior to attending the Greensboro Prospect ID in October. Physical presence with feel and a strong arm, he is still uncommitted but has plenty of interest. Below is the eval and video from October.
10.27.18
6 foot 3, 193-pound athletic build with room to project. Physical presence on the mound. Fluid delivery with a step to the side and leg lift working just above the belt. In line to the plate with a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Level head with extension out front. Filled the zone up with 3 pitches. Fastball has life with down angle at 88-91 mph. Gets some arm side run on his 2- seamer. Ball jumped out of the hand and played heavy through the zone. Sharp slider with late break and depth at 77-80 mph. Length to the break. Thrown with aggression. Maintains fastball arm speed on his changeup with fade at 80-82 mph. In the bullpen setting, the three-pitch mx looked like it would play vs. lineups. Control over command, showing feel for each pitch. Impressed during his bullpen session pounding the zone with ease.

Scouting Report
Charlotte commit jumped out at the Top Prospect Games in 2017 and has continued to get better. Below is the eval from the 2018 PBR Top Prospect Games, with video from that event.
08.07.18
Charlotte commit. Athletic build with long levers at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Frame will continue to handle strength as he matures. Fastball jumped on hitters, creating chase when elevated. Ranged 86-89, straight but hard. Slider is new to the repertoire featuring downer tilt at 74-77. Fastball look-alilke created chase down in the zone. Erratic at times with the pitch, misses were buried underneath strike zone. Straight change-up looks like fastball out of the hand at 73. Shows feel for the change. Stable head over the rubber throughout the delivery with some rhythm. Level, the shoulders close through balance, working back to on-line at foot-strike. Long arm swing with a slight bottoming out. High front side glove provides some deception. Over-the-top release and quick hand. Fights for extension on a strong, stable front side.
