Snapp Matches Cozart; WCA Gets Late Runs

Wesleyan Christian Academy  6 Covenant Day  1

Opening day for Wesleyan Christian saw them take the field with ace Sam Cozart on the bump. Covenant Day would spoil the big righty's start, seeing him leave with a 1-0 lead after 5 innings, but the Lions would quickly tie the game once in the bullpen.  WCA showed championship grit quickly answering with 5 runs in the top of 7th to take the game.

Mississippi State commit. Broad shoulders and mature at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. Seems to have slimmed down a bit with more of a muscular build from last spring. Some effort in the delivery, coiling the lower half through balance. Level, works back to on-line with a square foot-strike. Short, scapular load arm action working to a high-3/4 slot.  Above average arm speed. with a ton of arm strength. Created swing and miss with the fastball and slider in the zone.  Advanced feel for both pitches.  Fastball has late, darting run when working to the arm side at 87-91. Showed an ability to allow the fastball to ride as well at
