The Hoggard Vikings made the trip to Corinth Friday night to take on the Pirates in a NCHSAA 4A round 2 game. The Pirates junior lefty Briggs McKenzie was up to the task on the mound allowing 3 hits in 6 innings of work striking out 9. 

Taco Ferguson broke a 1-1 tie for the Pirates in the bottom of the 4th and Corinth never looked back. 

Coleton Norris took the loss for Hoggard, who's 2024 comes to an end with a 19-7 record. Corinth moves to 19-6 and will travel to Wake Forest on Tuesday night to face the Wake Forest Cougars in a round 3 Match up.
