TELL US MORE...

Tell us about your commitment to Rutgers. Why did you decide on your school?
I really wanted to get the opportunity to compete at a power 5 program and the Big 10 is really competitive. Rutgers is the perfect fit for me in terms of baseball and academics. I loved the size of the campus and the facilities are great but the main reason for committing was having the opportunity to play for Head Coach Steve Owens. When I met Coach Owens I knew I had to play for him. His passion for the game and the style of baseball he likes to play really appealed to me. He’s a winner and develops baseball players on and off the field while preparing them to be successful at the next level. Another contributing factor was former South Troy Dodger Branden Cogswell is part of the coaching staff there as well. Growing up watching him play while winning a National Championship at UVA made a big impression on me as a youngster.

The offseason is upon us. Tell us a little about your off-season training:
I do strength training 5 days a week as well as speed and agility 3 days a week. I’m hitting and taking infield everyday at the South Troy Dodgers Premiere Training Facility. The facility includes a full gym, cages and a turf infield so it’s great to have everything you need in one location. It’s cool to workout in the off season with all the former Dodgers players that are currently in pro ball. It shows me the level of preparation and what is needed to play at the next level.

Baseball is a game built on adversity & failure. How have you dealt with the the ups & downs the game brings? Who might have helped you along the way?
My dad always told me one of the biggest parts of the game is the ability to move on and not be fazed by failure. I just take it on the chin and move on. The saying “Everyday is opening day” helps as well. There’s always tomorrow to redeem yourself and help your team win.

Who is your biggest influence in the game today?
My dad, my uncle Kevin, and my grandfather George. They are all responsible for my baseball development and influence on the game.

Best player you ever shared the field with and why?
My South Troy Dodgers teammate Brady Short. No moment is too big for him. He’s a competitor. He keeps me loose and we have a lot of fun playing on the left side together.

How has your experience been with Prep Baseball Report?
My experience with PBR has been great. The platform you guys give players to help us get exposure is awesome. PBR gives an opportunity for every player to be seen by college coaches.

QUICK HITS

Favorite Food?
Definitely pizza.

Favorite Movie?
My favorite movie would have to be The Outsiders.

Favorite MLB Player?
Pete Rose. He played hard every game and was a winner.

Go to game day or workout music?
Da Baby is my go to before a game or while working out.

Most embarrassing moment on a ball-field?
I can’t think of anything embarrassing that has happened

IN CLOSING...

The ultimate long term goal is what?
My ultimate long term goals are to get to Omaha and win a National Championship with Rutgers and to play in the big leagues.
