Long Island Hot Stove League

Myles Scarry RHP / OF / Division, NY / 2020

Lean athletic body type with potential to fill out. High baseball IQ defensively. Has good instincts in centerfield when it comes to tracking the ball with a very quick first step and good reactions. Offensively he shows a quick bat and plus patience/knowledge of the strike zone. Above average speed, and gets good reads on the bases. The plus speed makes him a viable stolen base threat and gives him the ability to cover gap to gap in centerfield.

Kyle Gaertner SS / RHP / MacArthur, NY / 2020

Strong athletic build with good upside. Defensively he shows good range and a strong arm from shortstop giving him the ability to play third base as well. He has a smooth approach to the ball and good hands. Offensively he has a very level swing with good bat speed. He has above average speed giving him the ability to beat out infield hits. On the mound he features fastball at 80-83 MPH with solid ASR, a 11/5 curveball and a changeup. He shows a good feel for his offspeed stuff and does a good job varying timing and looks with runners on. A true dual player.

Aidan Calandra SS / RHP / Lindenhurst , NY / 2024

Not an eye popping player but impressed by his pretense at the plate.  He took off speed in the dirt and was balanced at the plate then proceeded to crush a hitter's count fastball into the gap for a triple. With time, he will grow and his approach will carry with him to be a successful hitter.  Same goes for defense, definitely has baseball IQ and with time and growing Calandra could be a prospect as a middle infielder.

Jose Ventura OF / OF / Xavier , NY / 2019

A big strong athlete with upside. Ventura has nice smooth swing from the left side with great extension. He possesses doubles pop spraying the ball gap to gap, which was on display with a deep triple to RCF. Ventura has plus speed which he uses to turn doubles into triples and beat out infield hits. He possesses good instincts on the bases getting dirtball reads and looking to take the extra base.

Christian Corey RHP / 3B / Locust Valley, NY / 2023

Small wiry frame throwing from a ¾ slot generating good ASR. Pitches with good tempo and shows good composure. Corey has a lose arm action and clean delivery. At the plate Corey has a good short bat path with good extension, getting consistent good hard contact. He has a clear middle out approach and looks to shoot the ball the other way. If he can fill out his wiry athletic frame he could develop into a solid prospect.
