On Deck Preview: Eastern NY All-Star Game (Middle Infielders)

Our 2018 Fall All-Star Games are ready to kick off this weekend as we head to Central Park's "A" diamond in Schenectady, NY. The morning session will kick off at 9am (8:15am check-in)with a traditional showcase until 10:30am. A live scrimmage game will run roughly from 10:30am-12:30pm.
The afternoon session will a 12:45 start (12noon check-in) with the showcase running to about 2pm. Structured scrimmage will run roughly 2:15-4pm.
Today we highlight our middle infielders, let's take a look:

Versatile infielder who can handle 2B/SS/3B; steady defender, ranges well and make the play on the move. Sub 7.0 runner with an arm that peaks at 85 MPH across the diamond. Flat barrel path with line drive results.

Matthew Tiberia 2B / SS / CBA-Albany , NY / 2020Balanced, line drive stroke from the right side; gliding actions up the middle with an ease to his approach. As frame fills out that strength will have an impact on his game.

Kyle Caccamise 2B / SS / John Jay- East Fishkill , NY / 2019Rankings StateRank: 243 / POS: 9
Upright approach at the plate with a short stroke; uses all fields. Fundamental defender; hands are soft out in front with an accurate arm that plays from the left side. Made an appearance in our Spring Scout Blog with a some solid at-bats off of Virginia Commit Brandon Neeck.

Physical 6-foot-1 182 pound frame with a strong lower half. Has worked out at prior events showing a strong/accurate arm at 83 MPH. Looking forward to seeing him up the middle.

Berkley Thompson SS / 2B / Albany Academy, NY / 2020Repetitive, line drive stroke from the right side; rounds the ball off well up the middle; low arm slot on release. Looking forward to seeing Thompson in game action.

Matthew Snyder SS / C / Shaker , NY / 2020Spread stance from the left side; snaps the barrel through the zone with consistent contact. Positive bounce in his step up the middle; ranges well with a short, low arm slot release. Also has shown well behind the plate.

Physical player at 6-foot-2 170 pounds; above average range with a left side arm. SS/3B long term projection as his offensive skill set will keep him in the lineup at the next level.

Sonny D'Antonio 2B / OF / CBA-Albany, NY / 20205-foot-10 150 pound right-handed hitting 2B/OF that also plays for the NY Storm.

Michael Lombardi SS / RHP / Fox Lane, NY / 2022Underclassmen on the rise; solid build at 5-foot-11 175 pounds. Solid efforts at Rising Stars and Junior Future Games this past summer. Steady glove and an arm that works from the left side. Frame, foot speed and offensive game may point to a long term 3B projection. Also up to 77 MPH on the mound.

Quin Barton 2B / SS / Schoharie , NY / 2022Slightly built left-handed hitter with some whip through the zone; athletic actions up the middle. Solid all-around skill set for the 2022 grad.

Nicholas Perry 2B / SS / Shenendehowa, NY / 2021Left-handed hitting middle infielder with a compact stroke; line drive results. Frame holds plenty of projection at 5-foot-9 120 pounds. Actions are there up the middle, physical maturity and game experience will go a long ways for Perry. Looking forward to seeing him again.

Lean build for Bonilla was with us back in February. Balanced approach fro the right side with the barrel staying in the zone. Shows a good bounce in his step and can make the play on the move. Excited to see his progress after a full summer under his belt.
