Progress Report
Recent Improvements: Although we did not see Will at an event prior to this year, we were able to see him at a PBRT Northeast National Qualifier last July where his fastball sat 72-74 MPH with a breaking ball at 65-66 MPH. Safe to say he made some major strides since then; His fastball sat 82-84 MPH with high spin and a above average induced vertical metrics suggesting he would be able to pitch at the top of the zone with success. Will also displayed a sinker with plus movement, up to 17" horizontal giving him 2-different looks with nearly the same velo as the FB and the ability to pitch up and down with high potential for success. The breaking ball improved with the added velo and a short, tight break. The difference maker could be the splitter that he added if he can throw it with confidence in game. It comes out of the hand at near the same release height with good arm speed while killing the spin and gets late drop through the zone for a potential swing and miss out pitch. We are looking forward to seeing if his stock will continue to rise at the State Games this summer.
