With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Clay Eagles

Team Name: Oregon Clay Eagles
Head Coach: Jim Phillips, 24-31
Division: I
2015 Record: 14-13
Conference Record: TRAC
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/7

2016 Team Strengths:

• Starting Pitching
• Defense
• Speed

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Scoring Runs
• Clutch Hitting

Coach Outlook: "There is a lot of experience returning with 7 starters back from a team that improved their win total by 4. I expect us to be in the mix with several other teams to compete for the TRAC Championship. Since the TRAC Tourney has been eliminated, the league has instituted a round robin format to decide the champion. This should benefit us with the depth I anticipate us having on the mound."

PBR Outlook: The Eagles are an intriguing team in 2016. They have the talent to compete with any team and with the depth on the mound could make a run come tournament time. Talented two-way prospect and Dayton commit Chandler Cannon is poised to have a big year.
