With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Mason Comets

Team Name: Mason Comets
Head Coach: Curt Bly
Division: I
2017 Record: 19-9
Conference Record: Greater Miami Conference, 12-6, 4th Place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/4

2018 Team Strengths:

  • Pitching
  • Depth
  • Senior Leadership

Coach Outlook: We expect to compete within a tremendously tough Greater Miami Conference for the league title and hope to be in position for a deep run in the tournament. Our non-league schedule is filled with great teams and programs that will present quite a challenge to us. We are traveling to Tennessee to play in the Warrior Classic as well and Indianapolis to compete in the PBR Midwest Showcase. Our team is excited about the opportunities these challenges present.

PBR Outlook: Mason are a team to watch every year, but with the talent this 2018 team has, this is definitely a team to watch. Look for the Comets to have a chance at making a run come tournament time after being tested all year with a difficult schedule.
