Team Ohio 2015 Future Games Spotlight: Seth Lonsway, LHP
July 16, 2015
By Dylan Hefflinger
Ohio Editor in Chief/NW Scout
On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Ohio will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Ohio at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.
Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Scouting Report: 6-foot, 165-pound athletic frame. On the mound the southpaw has a slow tempo delivery with good direction. Throws from a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 85-88 mph with some cut to it. The fastball topped out at 89 a few times in the first inning and stayed in the 85-88 range throughout. He uses a breaking ball with good depth and 1/7 action at 69-71 mph. The southpaw tried to keep the opposing offense off-balance with a change the he mixed in a couple times at 74-75 mph with so arm-side run and dip. Seth did not throw a slider against Defiance but showcased a slider with side-to-side action and late break at 72 mph at the Western Winter Showcase. Four-pitch lefty that was impressive at the showcase in the Winter and has already showed development and improvement. Will be interesting to see how he progresses, definitely one to keep an eye on.
