2026 OKC Summer ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 30th, the Prep Baseball Oklahoma staff traveled to the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK to host the annual OKC Summer ID. This event was open for 2027-2030 class members, and featured 40+ players from across the state.
All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

Kalen Clift SS / C / Weatherford, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 51 / POS: 12
An intriguing two-way prospect with nice tools both on the mound and as a position player, INF/RHP Kalen Clift (Weatherford, 2028) put together an impressive showing at the OKC Summer ID. At the plate, he ran his exit velocities up to 93.4 mph, with a max distance of 332 feet and an impressive sweet spot percentage of 69%. Defensively, Clift’s best tool is his arm strength, tossing it across the diamond at 84 mph. The arm translates well to the mound, where we had his fastball up to 86.3 mph, good for the top number of the event. Clift works off the fastball with a pair of offspeed offerings, an upper 70s changeup and a mid 70s slider with nice short and sharp glove side action. |

Hunter Hargis 3B / RHP / Weatherford, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 136 / POS: 10
With a long, projectable frame at 6’1 160 lbs, OF/RHP Hunter Hargis (Weatherford, 2028) profiles as someone to watch this summer as a high-upside prospect both on the mound and in the outfield. Hargis began the day with a solid 60-yard dash time, running a 7.04 on the lasers. Defensively, Hargis had clean actions in the outfield, with nice arm strength tossing it in at 81 mph. Hopping on the mound to close out his workout, Hargis showcased an impressive four-pitch mix with some present tools. The fastball worked up to 85.3 mph, settling in at 82-84, with plenty of life at the top of the zone at an average IVB of 18. The arsenal also features two distinct breaking balls, a 2,300 rpm slider with a flatter east-west movement profile and a curveball that gets more depth and comes in about 3-4 mph slower than the slider. He utilizes a changeup as the fourth pitch, killing spin really well and commanding it in the zone with some consistency. |

Cadence Smith OF / RHP / Putnam City West, OK / 2028Putting himself on the map as one of the best raw athletes we saw at UCO, OF/RHP Cadence Smith (Putnam City West, 2028) was impressive all around and is full of upside as he continues to grow and add strength. Smith started things off with an eye-catching 6.80 60-yard dash, flashing the athleticism that would continue to be evident throughout the rest of his workout, particularly in the outfield where he looked comfortable and showcased nice arm strength, running his velocity up to 84 mph. At the dish, he ran his EVs into the low 90s, boasting a solid hard hit percentage of 16.7% and a max distance of 320 feet. Once he jumped on the mound, the rising junior utilized a three-pitch arsenal with a fastball that topped out at 84.5 as the primary offering. He worked off the heater with a pair of breaking balls that he spun extremely well, at ~2,400 and ~2,500 rpm respectively. |

Sean Snellings LHP / OF / Hollis HS, OK / 2028One of the biggest winners coming out of the OKC Summer ID, LHP/OF Sean Snellings (Hollis, 2028) showcased an exciting blend of present tools to go along with high projectability and upside as he adds more strength to his 6’0 163 lbs frame. On the mound, Snellings ran a high spin (2,493 max RPM) fastball up to 83.7 mph, settling in at 81-83 mph. He utilizes a curveball with a sharp, short shape and a hard changeup with fade as his offspeed offerings. At the plate, he put up the fourth best max EV of the day at 95.2 mph, as well as the second best average EV of the day at 88.8 mph. The arm strength evident on the mound translates well to the outfield, where he tied for the best outfield velocity of the day, tossing it around at 87 mph. |

Sloan Steggs RHP / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2028A long, projectable arm standing at 6’2 159 lbs,, RHP Sloan Steggs (Edmond Santa Fe, 2028) projects as an intriguing arm to keep an eye on as he continues to add strength. Steggs showcased an effective three-pitch mix led by a fastball that topped out at 83.5 mph, settling in at 77-81 mph with heavy horizontal movement, averaging nearly 20 inches of arm-side run. Steggs pairs the heater with a big curveball that gets nice depth. He rounds out the arsenal with a changeup that sits around 68-70, killing spin well while generating a ton of late fading action to his arm side.

Jesstin Kimberlin RHP / 3B / Burns Flat-Dill City HS, OK / 2030Featuring a lean, projectable 6’1 158 lbs frame, RHP Jesstin Kimberlin (Burns Flat-Dill City, 2030) emerged as an exciting young arm with plenty of upside. The young right-hander showcased impressive present arm strength for his class, working the fastball up to 82.6 mph while sitting consistently in the 79-82 range. Kimberlin controls a three-pitch mix, complimenting his heater with two distinct breaking balls. He features an upper-60s curveball with depth that he landed in the zone at a 67% clip, as well as a slider around 68-70 mph with tighter, sharper action.

Travis Yockel 1B / RHP / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2028An intriguing two-way prospect to keep an eye on, INF/RHP Travis Yockel (Edmond Santa Fe, 2028) put together a strong all-around workout. Yockel set the tone early with a solid 7.04 60-yard dash. At the dish, he showed off some present power, putting up exit velocities up to 95.5 mph and reaching a max distance of 332 feet. He displayed some nice arm strength tossing it across the diamond at 82 mph. On the bump, the rising prospect worked his fastball up to 82.5 mph, settling comfortably at 81-82 mph. He compliments the heater with a upper 60s to low 70s changeup and a 71-72 mph slider with nice spin (~2,239 avg RPM) that gives him a solid three-pitch mix.

Aidyn Roderick RHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2027With an imposing frame at 6’5 187 lbs, RHP Aidyn Roderick (Deer Creek, 2028) possesses massive projectability and will be an exciting follow next spring. The right-hander highlighted a deep four-pitch arsenal anchored by a low 80s fastball with nice life at the top of the zone, averaging over 18 inches of IVB and 13 inches of horizontal run. The mix features a pair of breaking balls including a 69-70 mph curveball with sharp vertical drop at -9.1 avg IVB, and a low 70s slider with sweeping action. To complete the mix, he turns to a mid-70s changeup that serves as a high-level offspeed weapon, generating over 20 inches of late arm-side fade.

Lucas Jellison OF / LHP / Yukon, OK / 2029An intriguing two-way southpaw to keep an eye on in the 2029 class, OF/LHP Lucas Jellison (Yukon, 2029) put together an impressive all-around workout. Jellison kicked off his showcase showing off his athleticism, running a solid 7.07 60-yard dash and topping out at a max run speed of 20.6 mph. In the outfield, he moves with natural actions and boasts high-end arm strength for his class, tossing it in at 86 mph. That arm strength translated nicely over to the mound, where he ran his fastball up to 82 mph while sitting in the 80-82 range. He complements his heater with an upper-70s changeup that kills spin effectively and a sharp slider in the low 70s, spinning it well at an average of 2,400+ RPM.

Luke Wilkinson RHP / OF / Jones, OK / 2029Standing at a projectable 6’0 150 lbs, OF/RHP Luke Wilkinson (Jones, 2029) put together a solid all-around showing as a two-way prospect. The rising sophomore looked smooth in the outfield, tossing it in at 78 mph. Wilkinson had a loud round of BP as well, running exit velocities up to 90 mph and showing solid feel for the barrel. Wrapping up his day on the mound, he ran the fastball into the low 80s, working off the heater with a trio of offspeed offerings. The arsenal features a pair of distinct breaking balls, a slider in the low 60s and curveball in the mid 60s, as well as a changeup in the upper 60s.

Kuba Berman 3B / RHP / Stillwater, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 144 / POS: 12
After putting up nice production for Stillwater last spring, RHP/INF Kuba Berman (Stillwater, 2028) showed up to the OKC Summer ID and put together an impressive two-way showing. He had a solid showing in his round of BP, running EVs into the low 90s and hitting a max distance over 300 feet. On the mound, the rising junior works everything off a low 80s fastball with nice metrics at 16.3 max IVB and 18.0 max HM. The breaking ball works with a short, sharp action in the upper 60s, and the changeup features high-level arm-side fade with a 17.4 max HM.

Benjamin Fees LHP / 1B / Mount St. Mary, OK / 2029Standing at an impressive 6’1 205 lbs, LHP Ben Fees (Mount St Mary, 2029) jumped on the mound and showed off an advanced pitch mix at UCO. The rising sophomore’s arsenal features a three-pitch mix, with a low 80s fastball as the featured offering. The heater has impressive metrics, maxing out at a 21.1 IVB and a -14.4 HM with a solid spin at 2,200+ RPM. The changeup works off the fastball nicely, sitting at 65-68 mph and killing spin effectively. A tight slider is the breaking pitch of choice, sitting at 68-70 mph.

Garrett Griffin C / OF / Bridge Creek, OK / 2028An athletic prospect with a unique skillset as an outfielder and catcher, C/OF Garrett Griffin (Bridge Creek, 2028) had an impressive performance at the OKC Summer ID. The rising junior opened the day with a 6.96 60-yd dash, and the speed transferred well to the outfield where he displayed smooth actions, running up his velos 83 mph. He shined most in his round of BP, with exit velocities as high as 97.3 mph with an average EV of 84.9 mph. He also hit a max distance of 334 feet with an impressive sweet spot percentage of 78%.

Carter DeHaas 3B / OF / Drummond HS, OK / 2027Establishing himself as a physical corner infielder to watch in the senior class, INF Carter DeHaas (Drummond, 2027) put together an impressive showing at the OKC Summer ID. At the dish, the right-handed hitter showcased plenty of present power throughout his round, posting a 96.7 mph max exit velocity to go along with a 91.3 mph avg exit velocity. DeHaas peppered balls around the yard, boasting an impressive 60% hard-hit percentage and a max distance of 328 feet. Defensively, his toolset translates well to the dirt where he showed off some nice arm strength, firing throws across the diamond at 86 mph.

Aiden Orgain 1B / 3B / Canute, OK / 2028Boasting a physical 6’1 225 lbs frame, INF Aiden Orgain (Canute, 2028) put his heavy raw power on full display with an impressive showing at UCO. The physical corner infielder showed off some juice with the bat, posting a max exit velocity of 94.8 mph and an 85.4 mph average, along with launching his best ball of the day 361 feet. Orgain also displayed a nice feel for the barrel throughout his round, squaring it up for a 55% sweet spot percentage.

Manny Botone SS / OF / Anadarko, OK / 2029An athletic, high-upside prospect to follow in the 2029 class, OF Manny Botone (Anadarko, 2029) put together a strong all-around workout. Botone kicked things off on a high note by flashing impressive speed, running a 7.01 60-yard dash. At the dish, the right-handed hitter showcased good feel for the barrel and plenty of present pop, running his exit velocities up to 92.2 mph with a strong max distance of 346 feet. The athletic toolset carried over smoothly to the outfield, where he put his big arm on full display, tossing it in at an event-best 87 mph.

Carter Cogburn C / 3B / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2029Rankings StateRank: 91 / POS: 15
An intriguing backstop to follow in the 2029 class, C Carter Cogburn (Edmond Memorial, 2029) turned in an impressive all-around performance at the OKC Summer ID. The physical catcher began his day by running a 7.39 60-yard dash before making noise at the dish with a solid round of BP. Cogburn generated loud contact throughout his round, running his max exit velocity up to 91.6 mph with a strong 83.5 mph avg EV and a max distance of 345 feet. He demonstrated great barrel feel as well, posting a 50% sweet spot percentage. Behind the plate, Cogburn displayed quick, clean transfers and smooth footwork, putting down pop times as quick as 2.05 with throws up to 74 mph.

Dawson Davidson 3B / C / Union City, OK / 2027Boasting a sturdy, physical 5’10 196 lbs frame with present strength, INF/C Dawson Davidson (Union City, 2027) put together a loud round of BP at UCO. The physical hitter showed off plenty of present power at the dish, running his max exit velocity up to 91.6 mph with a solid 84.3 mph average exit velocity while adding on a max distance of 343 feet. Davidson was locked in on the barrel throughout his workout, boasting an impressive 64% sweet spot percentage.

Franklin Coats 1B / RHP / Mount St. Mary, OK / 2028Rankings StateRank: 112 / POS: 7
Boasting a physical 6’2 207 lbs frame with plenty of present strength, 1B/RHP Franklin Coats (Mount St. Mary, 2028) put together a solid two-way performance with good numbers both on the mound and at the dish. At the plate, the right-handed hitter utilized his strong lower half to generate natural pop, posting a max exit velocity of 90.7 mph and an average exit velocity of 84.5 mph. Hopping on the bump, Coats displayed a three-pitch mix led by a fastball that he spun at up to 2,035 rpm with solid arm-side run at 15.3 avg HM. He pairs the heater with a mid-60s slider that features some nice glove-side movement, as well as a late-fading changeup in the upper 60s to low 70s that kills spin well, averaging 910 RPM.

Talon Arnold RHP / SS / Calumet, OK / 2028Though he boasts the toolset of an athletic two-way prospect, INF Talon Arnold (Calumet, 2028) focused his efforts on the infield at the OKC Summer ID, with a nice performance to show for it. The rising junior opened the day with a great effort in the 60-yard dash, clocking a 6.92. The athleticism translated well to the infield where he looked smooth defensively. At the plate, Arnold was consistently on the barrel, hitting his way to a sweet spot percentage of 61.5% and an average exit velocity of 81.9 mph.

Cooper Anderson 3B / 2B / Okarche, OK / 2028Proving to be a two-way prospect to monitor in the 2028 class, INF/RHP Cooper Anderson (Okarche, 2028) put together a loud performance across the board in his workout. Anderson set the tone early, showcasing great speed with a crisp 6.94 60-yard dash. At the dish, the right-handed hitter consistently found the barrel for a 50% sweet spot percentage with exit velocities maxing out at 87.8 mph and driving balls out to a max distance of 331 feet. On the mound, he utilized a three-pitch mix anchored by a fastball with solid life at the top of the zone, along with some late run. He complements the heater with a low 60s slider with a short, tight shape and an upper 60s changeup that kills spin effectively.

Holden MacHugh OF / RHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2030An exciting follow as he enters his freshman season thanks to a great blend of present tools and projectability, OF/RHP Holden Machugh (Deer Creek, 2030) put together an impressive two-way showing at UCO. At the plate, the right-handed hitter displayed some present power, running his exit velocities up to 89.2 mph with a max distance of 321 feet. Hopping on the bump, Machugh featured a three-pitch mix, led by a mid 70s fastball with heavy arm-side run, peaking at 23.9 HM and averaging 21.4 HM. He pairs his heater with a high-60s slider and an intriguing low-spin splitter in the low 70s to round out an advanced pitch mix.

Cooper Ferrell C / RHP / Yukon, OK / 2030Putting together a big day at multiple positions, INF/C Cooper Ferrell (Yukon, 2030) shined as one of the top performers from the 2030 class on the day. On the infield, Ferrell displayed clean actions and ran it up to 78 mph tossing it across the diamond. The rising freshman looked solid defensively behind the dish as well, throwing it down at 74 mph, good for a 2.07 pop time. At the plate, Ferrell showcased a high-level feel for the barrel, swinging his way to a sweet spot percentage of 70%. He would run his exit velocities up to 88.5 mph, averaging 82.8 mph and swatting his furthest ball of the day 335 feet.
