Three Sophomores Seperate Themselves Mid-Fall

Over the past week, Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma has seen a lot of talent in camps, showcase tournaments, and the class A and B regional tournaments. Today, PBR Oklahoma reports on two catchers and a couple of two-way players that show big potential in the 2019 class.

Parker Tipton, RHP/OF, Norman North
A 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic build, strength in the lower half. On the mound, slow, controlled delivery, over the top arm slot, fast, loose arm. Fastball sits 81-83, touches 84, slightly down hill angle.  Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle of the field approach, some bat speed. Athletic, wide stance, aggressive load, short stride, short to contact, flat path through contact, some strength in hands. In-game 4.52 home-to-first.

Parker Rowland, C, Bishop Kelley
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound thick, proportional build. Offensively, switch hitter, middle of the field approach, good rhythm. Back leg heavy set-up, loose hands, toe tap stride, some length. Defensively, slightly narrow in the squat, quiet receiver, blocks well, clean exchanges, 2.11 pop between innings, 2.15 in-game pop.

Chance Westerveld, C, Westmoore
A 5-foot-11, 185-pound strong, muscular build, defined lower half. Offensively, right-handed hitter, all fields approach, strong hands. Upright stance, high hands, big leg kick, moderate stride, short to contact, flat, on plane through contact. Defensively, good exchanges, a bit stiff at times, average blocking, 2.12 pop in-game.
